It's bare knuckle because there was no punching to the face in the video. It's just glorified point sparring.

i did some reaserch on this. this was invented before MMA by Mas Oyama.
they go untill someone gets knocked out or gives up. yes there was punching to the face, and i think kicks would hurt more the ways these guys train. (im not defending it) i like MMA way better anyway |

For practicality sake, their rigid stances, and hands at the waist punching, kinda makes me sad. However, those guys are rather tough, in good shape, and though they don't kick the same WAY the muay thai guys do, thier kicks are very fast and accurate, and I liked them.

you need to lay off KDH, muay thai has shown itself to be effective again and again, why cant we praise it? Noone in this topic has outright flamed karate yet your acting like an ass, relax why dont you. Karate can definitely be effective for self defense and sometimes even sport fights if trained properly, most people here dont deny that. Its just the way that lots of karateka train(point sparring+kata only) greatly reduces the ability to use it in a real situation. Kyokushin is a great example, its full contact competitions have produced many high quality mma fighters.
