If you guys ever get a chance and are in LA, you need to train at least one class with Gene.

This guy should have been a stand up comedian if not a great martial artist and teacher.
He's funny as all hell AND a great teacher.
He knows his stuff and he's one tough Muther.....
gene is one guy ive ALWAYS wanted to train with, there arent many people who know as much, and have done as much in grappling as him... plus hes one of the guys left who knows real catch wrestling, fought against boxers, was a stunt man..you name it the guy did it

"Judo" Gene is the man! I knew of him when I started doing JKD (Guro Dan incorporates a lot of his stuff) and I got a chance to meet him personally at Extreme Fighting 4 (remember that, kids?) where, after the show, he donned sweats and gave a free seminar in grappling techniques with a club. BTW, if he autographs a patch ("when in doubt choke him out") for you he has to choke you out first... He's great!

Gene LeBell is the man, as someone said above.
Interentingly, I was at a library book sale and I found a copy of "The Handbook of Judo" written by LeBell back in 1962 and it covers every BJJ move that we have seen.
I guess there really is nothing new under the sun.

Note: I only paid fifty cent for it. Pretty good deal.

Validity of his technique? Give me a break! Judo Gene is THE grappling master.

But don't take my word on it! "Uncle" Gene has been in the game for more than a half century. Anyone that Gene has laid his hands on will tell you they're valid techniques!
