"Judo" Gene is the man! I knew of him when I started doing JKD (Guro Dan incorporates a lot of his stuff) and I got a chance to meet him personally at Extreme Fighting 4 (remember that, kids?) where, after the show, he donned sweats and gave a free seminar in grappling techniques with a club. BTW, if he autographs a patch ("when in doubt choke him out") for you he has to choke you out first... He's great!

Gene LeBell is the man, as someone said above.
Interentingly, I was at a library book sale and I found a copy of "The Handbook of Judo" written by LeBell back in 1962 and it covers every BJJ move that we have seen. I guess there really is nothing new under the sun. Note: I only paid fifty cent for it. Pretty good deal. pg |

Validity of his technique? Give me a break! Judo Gene is THE grappling master. But don't take my word on it! "Uncle" Gene has been in the game for more than a half century. Anyone that Gene has laid his hands on will tell you they're valid techniques!
