Thumbs up GSP vs Matt Hughes

Do you think Dana will ever give GSP a title shot against Hughes? Or will GSP get the run around?

Dana seems to really favor Hughes. I doubt he will give him a real challenge any time soon. I mean come on, Sakurai? Great PRIDE fighter but never fought in a cage. Then Riggs, great stand up guy but come on, never beat anyone good. I think Dana will keep GSP away from Hughes until Hughes bothers Dana.

Dana sucks

He HAS to give him a shot, Georges is ready and has proved he is primed and ready to kick the shit outta Hughes. But now Pennis back in the mix, it might be a GSP and Penn title after one of them schools Hughes (again for Penn)

It was stated that GSP now has to face B.J Penn and Hughes face Karo. The winner of GSP-B.J gets the next shot somewhere near UFC 60-62.

Thumbs up PRIDE and UFC

I'm getting tired of watching both PRIDE and UFC all together.

In my opinion, Dana has sold out. The sport was supposed to be about discovering the best fighter. How can it happen when Dana's putting his favorite fighters against easier opponents, and potential challengers never get a title shot? I'm still wondering why Linland or Frank Shamrock got fired?
Guess they didn't bend over for Dana. Ricco Rodriguez was honest about how the company was being run, and I give him credit for that.

PRIDE is starting to make me sick because it seems like the refs seems to make calls that benefit the crowd favorites. Sak versus Shamrock was one example. It also doesn't help that Takada Dojo's owner works for Dream Stage Entertainment. Too much politics.

It's probably Shooto, WEF, Pancrase, and KOTC for me from now on.
Can anyone here list the other MMA organizations?

GSP told Dana in front of a few million people that he wants his title shot...

I think Dana will have to give him one soon or GSP may look to pride.. I dont want that to happen though..

I'd love to see GSP vs Hughes, and im not sure who would win.. but cmon you cant use the Riggs fight against Hughes and Dana....

If you knew what happened... Riggs was subbed in for Karo Parysian.. about a week or two before the fight because Karo pulled out, not because Dana is shielding Hughes..

Karo has to get his shot at the title, and after he loses... Hughes will have to face either Penn or GSP, and those are some awesome fights.. Karo and Hughes, Penn and GSP, Penn and Hughes, Gsp and Hughes... aaaaaah yeah.

I watched the K-1 GP 2005 last night and there were some very biased desicions in favour of Japanese fighters. Its really sad to see.

It's not just the japanese that are biased. But I do feel they are the worst. Just look at some bjj guys that enter judo tournaments.

I thought GSP and Matt already fought and Matt won by Spinning armbar.

yep hughes got him in an armbar with ease. i would like to see penn vs hughes again. the first time penn choked him out. but hughes is alot better than he was a couple of years ago.

GSP completely owned shawn "the muscle shark" sherk (what a gay nick name) whos only loss was to hughes. so i think he should get a title shot before penn. penn needs to fight at least 1 time...probably 2, just to refresh peoples memories of how godod he really is.

Hey. Why? If you were him would you do that?
Quite honestly, I wouldn't worry myself about that. You seem uncertain. As Bertrand Russel said, it must have taken ages for people to realize that a brace of pheasants and a couple of days are both instances of the number "two."

Why should Penn have to wait? He is THE REAL champion at that weight., Hughes inherited the title. The way Penn totally owned Hughes, tossing him around like he was a white belt, means he should get 1st try at taking the title back.
Let me be the first to say it, and you guys who train in grappling know this, if a guy can tap you out with a RNC as easily as Penn did to Hughes, things repeat themselves, and the fight will end the same way. Penn by RNC
