Lightbulb Wrestler's cradle

Wrestling has a lot to contribute to grappling. Leg hooks for back controll, no-gi takedowns, effective stance and sprawling, spinning to the back, ect... However, I have never seen the cradle used in grappling. Often my wrestler/grappler friends will end up getting someone in a cradle when they curl into turtle gaurd, and they bring the person over into side control. I think that there may be more submissions and ways of attaining possitional dominance witht he cradle, because it controlls so much of an opponents body and nearly completely stops movement.

Oppinions?

My opinion is that I hate the cradle. But it's because so many of my friends from 8th grade up have succeeded in stopping me with this move. Actually, the last time was in a parking lot two weeks ago. Maybe I'll put me getting punked out on google for all of you to enjoy (read: laugh at).

I suppose the cross-face cradle and the spladle could be used to set something up but the nearside cradle would be completely useless i think.

I've used my cradles to get into neck cranks and calf crushes, its kinda cool because the BJJ guys don't know what I'm doing so I hold it for a while, possition carefully, then go for sumbission or settle into side control.

if you set it up right you can catch the guys head an one arm in a leg "figure 4." he will have his face close to your exhaust. not everyone taps to it, but lots of people do. It gets pretty tight.

Good idea, but I don't like to figure fours.I always like them to be in front of my hips when I submit them. Pretty unique idea though, I'm sure that people would tap from it.
