    Ufc 57 02/04/2006 10:00 Pm Est

UFC.tv has updated their card for UFC 57, its Superbowl Weekend show on Feb 4. any predictions on whos gonna win?

    Here is the card :
Chuck “iceman” Liddell vs Randy “the natural”Couture for the LHW Title
Renato "Babalu" Sobral vs Mike Van Arsdale
    Alessio Sakara vs Elvis Sinosic
Frank Mir vs Marcio "Pe De Pano" Cruz
    Brandon Vera vs Justin Eilers
    Paul Buentello vs Gilbert Aldana
Jeff Monson vs Branden Lee Hinkle
Nick Diaz vs Joe “diesel” Riggs
Keith” the dean of mean” Jardine vs. Mike “iron”Whitehead

on liddell v. couture:i think Chuck being the champ and is a hell of a stand up fighter, he has great ground game and better yet can counter the take downs of couture. Randy is a hell of a grappler and could get past the take down counters to drop chuck on the ground. He can stand up and is one hell of a ground and pounded. If chuck keeps the fight on the feet I see him KO ing Randy, but if Randy gets Chuck to fall….Chuck is in Randys world and will loose.

Holy shit, one of the best cards ever.
I look for Randy to come back and GNP or submit Chuck.
"Babal" is THE best fighter at his wieght, 205, in the world, yes, he's better than Chuck even though Chuck caught him with a kick and KO'd him. 85 out of 100 times Babalu beats Chuck.
Mir vs. De Pano. Not sure how Mirs recovery is coming, but we're gunna find out when he goes with the 2002 world champ in BJJ. AWESOME, better than Hughes ROyce far as Im concerned. Mir was the best Heavywieght before his injury.
Monson, the ADCC super heavy champ, is a monster, was unbeaten in the ADCC and is on a roll. Might be the best at any weight
Diaz had hands full, even though Nick is way way better on the ground, DIesel is much bigger and stronger, even though theyre the same wieght, Deisel is naturally a bigger guy
    Great card

agree with you there man. I think it will be Nick if he fights smart. Joe can not ground right? We saw that when he fell to Hughes so easily. If this stays on the feet, Joe is going to tattoo Nick and try and pop him off. If it is on the feet Nick has to prove he has a chin against a real striker with KO ability on the feet. If it goes to the ground I hope Joe has found some ground skills or this will go quick as well. My prediction is that Nick will get rocked by Joe and take him to the ground were he will tie him up like a pretzel.

btw, how about the other fights? any faves?

Well I hate Paul B, I trained with him in San Jose, he has no business even competing in UFC. I am not sure who his opponent is though.
Mike Whitehead has yet to impress me, but Jardine is a warrior.
    you know

Whitehead frooze up on the UFC show, he is a choker. I did see him training iwith Tim Silvia though.
Paul B is badass power puncher, he has business there, he earned his way to the UFC.

Please do not talk about things you know nothing of. Paul has not worked his way up. He was a stepping stool for Arlovski. Like he actually deserved a title shot? I was there in 97 in Texas when he was choked out by Tanner, (who weighed 30lbs less than Paul)
Pauls last 4 fights were up against people with losing records. Not to mention Paul has lost 50% of the fights he's won. Anytime a fighter has that kind of record, it shows his stature.
I did like his fight against Ellers though, but that was a fluke.
His true nature showed when he got KO'd in 15 seconds. 15 seconds man, come on. WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!
Yeah hes a bad ass power puncher.

Since Paully B was put out by AA he has not been in the cage to regain his name as a head hunter. He loves to strike and comes with a kick boxing pedigree that makes him look a lot better than his game has proven. He has ground skills and has tapped out a guy or seven, but he likes to throw leather.

its pretty clear ultimate fan has gone crazy.
Chuck with good ground game, even in his interview he said he will always look to stand up with anybody.
Kinda like Paul B, but atleast Chuck is good

He is great, not technically awesome but his will power is tremenduous! Chuck Liddell has an ego bigger than almost any other UFC competitor, and with lesser merit; he's not in as good of shape as many other fighters, and he wins bouts with little to no technique. His technique is: "Roar! I am going to come out swinging and run straight toward you and you can't stop me! Then I'm going to stick my thumb in your eye! And if that doesn't work, I'll have the bout fixed so that I win!"

I am particularly interested in the Monson and Pe de Pano fights.

As for Couture vs Liddell 3.... I am the only one who doesn't really care about this match? Someone else should have a shot at Liddell.

At one point in his career Randy Couture had lost half of his fights also. It doesn't mean anything. You can dodge everyone good and have a winning record.
