Did Helio reely chalenge Joe Lewis?

In Grace in Actoin Roroin says about Helio chalenging Joe Lewis but Joe Lewis was scarred to fight Helio.
I find this hard to belive becuase Joe is a tuff MoFo nd I dont think he is scarred of enyone. Did this figt ever take place?

Actually i think that Joe didnt accept cause he had already fought and won against a JuJitsu fighter and said that he had already beaten that style and didnt need to do it again.

I think I read Lewis say somewhere in an interview that he enjoys fighting to compete, but he has never accepted personal challenges (and never will). Personally I think that if Lewis crosstrained in grappling to defend, he'd knock helio into a coma.

That was Joe Louis the boxer - HW champ back in the 40's - you have to remember how old Helio is. He could be the karate Joe Lewis' father.

Ive never heard of a boxer named Joe Louis (sic). Are you sure you arent thinking of Joe Frazier? I asked my pal who is a boxing fan and he told me he never heard of a "Joe Louis" in boxing either.

uhhh....it was the boxer, not the karate guy. the karate guy is white and only in his 50's today. he would have been mighty young back in 1950. the boxer is black, and was shown as a black man in the cartoon shown in the history of gjj video. geeez stop messing with everyone.

Just because ive never heard of some pug from Medievil times doesnt mean im not a fight fan. Now I think I know the guy you are talking about.
Helio would not have even been born when that guy was fighting. I think I saw a movie about him where he screwed some white chick and got exiled from America. Then he did a worked fight against a white guy and lost. That was a hundred years ago. Geez, give me a break.
