I was watching a replay of the Horn fight vs. Prangley from a couple months ago. The 2 times Horn gets the armbar in the 1st round, Horn has it all set up and is just trying to pry his arm out to finish. Well, he's got his ankles crossed, but he had the ankles the other way around. anybody do it that way or know why Horn uses that? He was attacking the left arm of Prangley, and his right ankle was cross OVER the left ankle. I think Jeremy has some of the best Jiu-Jitsu skills in terms of using it in MMA and I was surprised to see him do it that way.

I saw also where Horn was cranking the armbar, but pulling the guys forearm arm up towards the guys head, instead of towards the guys waist. If you have a guys left arm, you crank it towards your own left while appying pressure., (If you on your back and have his left arm)THey guy wont tap if you dont crank it towards the opponents hips, especially a big buff dude., Horn was making the mistake and after 2 attempts realized what he was doing wrong, corrected it, and the guy tapped in seconds. |
