Bowen hesitated and let himself get pulled into the clinch and moved to the fence. Bowen, as a boxer alone, was out of his element against the fence and being mounted. Jennum pulled off a text-book hip toss and followed Bowen to the mat. He rained a few punches down on Bowen to get his arms up and used that to set up an arm bar. If Bowen used his jab aggresively, learned how to sprawl and moved in and out of punching range, he would have likely stunned Jennum and knocked him out. Instead, he hesitated. | |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Jennum got an easy ride into the Final of UFC 3, as he came in late in the comp as an alternate. He used basic grappling to beat a boxer. Thats a no brainer. Everyone now knows this to be a fairly easy equation. Thats why no one enters MMA tournaments without extensive grappling experience any more. But Jennum soon disappeared off the scene when he got no more easy rides. As for Ninjas.....they made their presence felt on Pat Smith (a Kickboxer) in an earlier UFC. Yes, this guy made a right mess of Smiths hands and elbows..... with his head. They had to carry the Ninja out! |

As for Steve Jennum...(JENNUMMMM). Wasn't he a cop?- and therefore probably knew more than just Ninjitsu.!!

![]() ![]() | no worries dude actually i think my thread title kind of gave people the wrong idea. i wasn't suggesting ninjutsu is better than boxing, rather i was just shocked when i saw the fight. i know boxing rocks. i've actually tried a ninjutsu class, they had me cartwheeling as a means of escaping swords attacks, so i dunno... lame. it was just funny(strange) to see a supposed TMA guy working a combat athlete. |
