How do you defend against groin grab/groin strikes
when you have standing guillotine on your opponent?

i say if you appy it properly and QUICKLY and with force... the guy is NOT gonna be thinking about attacking. he's gonna be looking to survive.

although, if you must defend against groin strikes, momentary turning away or a lifting of a leg (knee up) should work for a couple of seconds... enough time to give you a couple more seconds to really crank the choke and get him to re-asses his intentions.

Pumping knees into him as you choke him would have a preety good effect I would think. How quickly you can put the choke on is an important factor. One tactic I saw Richar Bustillo do was to under hook and hammerlock the near arm and turn your hips (moving your groin away) as you do your guillotine.

Make like you're sprawling, as if the guy was shooting for a tackle, this should get your hips away. Plus if you really sink the choke it won't matter if he hits you in the nuts, he'll be unconcious too quickly to capitalize. Just make sure you can take a shot or two to the nuts without letting go.

I grew up with 2 older sisters, I learned quickly how to take punishment including nut shots.

How about this. I saw this on a video..instead of applying the guillotine the old fashion way "pulling the forarm up across the adams apple and arching your back" squeez your forarm around your opponents chin/jaw and pull your elbows in and bend forward instead of arching, putting all your weight on top of his head and taking your groin out of range. I guess this is more of a neck crank/head squeez but who cares he will tap
