Very impressive throws I think he must do Aikido as well because it was very fluid and he used uke's commitment against him.

Even the other guy bows. Why not? He did as much as either party to make that nonsense "work".

it wasnt a randori or a match, it was just a judo demonstration david did at his house. the other dude wasnt attacking or defending, he was just letting david "demonstrate" some judo throws, hence the word DEMO.

Interesting... is David a high level player?... I know I've heard of him but don't recall where or when... How old is he?

Time to Google I suppose...?

How about a link to his website?

I think I could take him. Well, it would be fun to try anyway!

I believe if im not mistaken he's responsible for the quote

"Jiu Jitsu isnt about points"

Something like that, which is a very good philosophy if you ask me, I also read an article he wrote about why you need to train with the gi on for your grappling game, even if your only goal is to fight mma.

Another idea I support.

From little else I know, Judo Blackbelt, BJJ blackbelt,(once again not positive) gets respect in my book.

Thanks kindly Empty...

I know now where I have heard of him... One of his students (J. Resnick) and I frequent another forum (judoinfosite) and have shared a few words over Judo techniques, tactics and the ground game. It's seems funny to me that even folks that "integrate" the two still think of them separately... I know the rules are different but the game is all Judo to me... Different names might confuse some people but they all come from the Kodokan. The principle is the same. Maximum efficiency!

He is a high level player! Way out of my league! I'd still like to "roll" with him though. Wonder how fast I can tap out?

Sounds like a nice guy, you're fortunate to train there!

I guess this shows how judo, brazilian jiujitsu and Aikido are so alike in how they flow with the opponent not against them. cool.

You should drop by the Judoinfosite forums? He seems to know his stuff...

I won't say what I think of him personally but I imagine he's a decent enough instructor.
