You can bite BJJ guys, eye guage them etc, but WHEN they get you in submission, they will show no mercy.

Let me share my story. I had once told my friend to try to eye gouge me in a ground fight situation. He tried to eye gouge me, but the result was he ended up giving his hand to me and then I submited him easily. I am not saying eye gouge is useless, but it isn't anti-BJJ. It is just an effective dirty move to any humans, if you have done it successfully.

i think you mean "IF" you get them in a submission....I seem to recall the simple FEAR of being PUNCHED kept YOU from winning a fight a month or so ago...you came on here posting all shook up how scary it was to realize this guy was "ALLOWED" to punch ....god forbid he was "ALLOWED" to stab you

It just might suck for you when he shows you no mercy and ruins your day before you get to play "dirty" and ramp up your ground game...

I wasnt fearful, just weary that the punches will be coming. And had they come, I would have shown no mercy as would anyone that gets eye guaged or bitten. And besides we're talking about Rickson and other black belts, not lowly ranked guys like me.

Yeah, ugh, you asked a friend to eye gouge you im pretty sure he didnt TRY to blind you for real eh? go to the link i provided, watch this guy shatter coconuts....and CRUSH apples with his claw, now tell me a slap that shoves fingers into your face as he grabs your face (whether he got in an eye or not) the way he does that apple..all in under a second...then you eat one of those ironpalm slaps to your head or the elbow to the face...youre gonna do what again?...youre gonna wake up in the hospital... if at all....

Well said Bob! Here's a video of a San Soo Kung Fu instructor (wearing black) fighting with a sports grappling guy. There were no rules except unarmed and one on one so the San Soo guy tried to eye gouge but gets his arm literally broken.

OOOOOOooooo so only the guys who are pro's and fight in the ring where eyegouging is illegal are able to defend them...would that be because its illegal to do it to them?

really dude, people on the street dont need training to poke yer ass in the eye...Its refreshing to hear you admit that its only possible for someone like "Rickson" to defend this, it explains much about Gjj. Rickson the guy who has 10 wins but claims 400 is the type of guy who can also defend eye gouges...NOW it all makes sense.

Default hmmm...

I can honestly say the whole eye gouging, biting thing doesn't work like most people think. I like the bullshido website article on this issue, stating grapplers train constantly for their submissions and positioning... and unless you constantly train biting and eye gouging hard and learn the most effective ways of doing so, you'll have alot of trouble taking out a good grappler... even a mediocre one. The only bites and eye gouging that really work are ones that are solid... for example finger like an inch deep into the socket(owww...) or biting a huge chunk of flesh. I've seen plenty of eye gouging used before to no success in fights. Of course, they were as unqualified and untrained in it as most people who say they would use it are. Only time I ever experienced the bite was (before I wrestled or took Bjj or anything for that matter) and I was put in a headlock by a big dude. I freaked out cause I couldn't breathe and I bit a big chunk... he screamed from seeing his own blood... lol. But even then he didn't let go right away... But yea, I'm sure if you trained in "dirty techniques" (no such thing) then they'd work well enough, or if you got lucky.

The only dirty techniques are the ones the other guy uses ...that being said if you base you fighting ability on biting and eyegouging alone, buy a casket.

lol. Good point... I think too many people believe something they don't really train for will work like a charm(just like the"I could stop a shot for my legs by simply moving out of the way, durrr"). I mean ever heard of pain tolerance, or maybe proficiency and practice in techniques before you use them ? .
