I'm fine with the English. Hell, I like Thai Bri - where the hell has he been?

We've had a lot of wankers here, that's all.

Now that everyone is completely off topic.. Thanks
I was also wondering if you could chop the hand down and then shoot a single or double leg takedown?
Effective?

Absolutely mate. A good handsword strike to the side of the neck then drop down and collide with their legs mate, works a treat. It's in a Shotokan kata I think.

Thumbs up

judo teaches how to deal with breaking grips extensively. my favorite counter to the shirt grab, is the wrist lock tanto mentioned. trap the hand against you, and simply lean foreward or pull their elbo up at the same time. you can destroy their wrist instantly. you can also bring them to their knees, and add a knee strike or other strikes when you lower them. bring them to their knees fast, and deliver a knee to their face as they go down. i use this in bjj alot, anytime someone grabs my collar i will go for this wrist lock, but be careful because you can do alot of dmg real fast.

Default Shirt Grab

Good Lawd! I cain't believe all the crap I'm reading!!

Shirt grab defense (I'm assuming one or both of the attackers hands are on the front of your shirt) same as choke defense.

Step one:
You throw your arm over attacker's wrist and pivot 1/4 turn away from them, stepping in and across the space between you and the attacker, trapping their wrist and/or lower arm(s) with your upper arm. This will usually cause attacker to loosen his grip and come closer to you as you pull his arm(s) in with your arm.

Step two:
You reverse the movement, stepping back to your first position, as if to face the attacker. But now your elbow is up and positioned so that it can smash into the attackers face, neck, temple, whatever. Do so with as much force as possible.

The two movements are executed with as much speed and snap as possible. The targeting can be sloppy/inaccurate. It'll still work.
The movements are simple and basic, any retard can learn them in 1 minute.
The defense does not require special skills or great strength, just basic flexibility. I've seen my arthritic mother use it effectively and I've seen a child use against a larger stronger adult.

Practice with gentleness and care.

Do the opposite with the wrist to the outside, it's easier to get an armbar from there, you can use it to dislocate the shoulder, elbow and wrist if necessary, but also it can be used to restrain.

Good one. That's a common one used in karate.

Depends on where you train, and who you're rolling with.
