Let's face facts. With or without the trolls this forum has gone to hell. We never recovered from going off-line last summer. Yes we go through good and bad cycles, but this is the worst I've seen and I've been a member for years. It's not the MMA and BJJ threads that have kept this forum going anyway. It was the off topic posts that were always most interesting. When we had that phase of strict regulation, where post kept getting moved to open access and members were banned, I didn't like it either. It was boring and sterile then. Yes the trolls (or should I say the not so undercover master behind all the trolling) has gotten way out of hand. He is cluttering the place up with crap. But it's probably because he is so bored now.

E1 I think we should have hope.
Firstly I think you are grossly mistaken about all these characters being one person. When the cats away the mice will play so to speak. Due to the negelect from the Admin with regard to moderating, this place has turned into the Wild West.
It would be simple to reverse this downward spiral. Mousels has a very famous name on the internet. Based on that brand recognition alone this place can be resurrected. We need to control the bleeding hearts like Ronin & Ryu because they have an adverse effect on the rest of the members with their constant whining.
I have been a member here in its heyday and I have just returned after a 2 year absence. It is sad to see the once great Mousels BJJ forum degenerate into this due to lack of interest from the Admin.
If we all pull together we could make this the greatest place on the internet.

John, you're right.

There was a time where it was very strict here and posts would get immediately moved over to open access.

There was a recent time where anything and everything was left alone.

I have seen some posts deleted and some threads closed.

Still people aren't happy.

I guess, it's like trying to get 30 kids to agree on one flavor of ice cream, you are going to piss off some, maybe a few, maybe a lot.

I don't envy Tim at all. He's like the teacher during recess.
"Teacher, teacher, Billy pushed me down."
"Teacher, teacher, Kathy is cheating at hand ball"
"Teacher, teacher, this guy is saying mean things about me"

come on dudes, grow up.

I go tutor 4th and 5th graders and they've shown me a lot more maturity than many of you have done. They can resolve their own conflicts in many cases. There's no need to whine and let the whole class know what one person did to another.

Have some Huevos and smarts,
Take it privately and do the verbal sparring in e-mails or on the open access forum, where it's wide open.

I'm sure that we can bring back the days when it was really strict, and if a post or thread wasn't mentioning martial arts in general, it was moved, or deleted.

Now do we really want that?
I don't.

We are at a point where a few can ruin it for many.
think about it.

SweepEm:

I realize I'm the "head whiner" but I am merely voicing my belief...if the personal attacks don't stop then Mousel's is finished. I was gone for less than a month and now Mickey Finn and Tony10 have disappeared.

I'm not talking about "off-topic" posts. I'm talking about the trolls/troll who are driving people like Ryu away, and pissing everyone off.

I wish I could convince you, at least...
