Hey I was watching that fedor vs randleman fight and I was really surprised to see randleman suplex fedor right on his head. Is spiking or slamming on the head allowed in most mma and wrestling(greco-roman?) competitions? Because to me it seems real dangerous, like you could end up with a broken neck or worse. Just think about the force, a 200 pound man launching his weight and your 200 lb weight onto your head at a ballistic speed. Doenst seem healthy or safe to me..

it is in Freestyle and greco, in fact you get 5 points if the back is completely exposed, the Judge will call a halt before it goes to far but the wrestler is not pennalized and gets his 5 points. and most likely a pin!

Fedor has commented on that slam saying it didnt really hurt, and was no big deal because he takes slams/falls like that all the time in judo/sambo. And hes been doing it all his life.

He also rolled Randleman and Submitted him about 20 seconds after that slam.

I'm not 100% sure (because they seem more lenient) about Pride rules, (example Sapp vs Big Nog), but I know in the UFC the rules prohibit spiking the opponent on their head with a slam.

Yeah I saw that fedor won that, but then again hes a bad brothertrucker. Have you ever heard of serious injuries resulting form those though? Maybe the way they direct their head to the ground there is a lower chance of injury? because well before I saw that fight if you had told me you could live through a suplex onto your head I would have said BS!
