A Charity amature martial arts/MMA event in Dec.

A few gym coaches & myself are planning a "Golden Gloves" version of an mma compettion in December, it is for charity, and we are looking for competetors.

We have developed a system based on usa boxing/wrsetling scoring that favors tequnique and scoring.

Head gear/ gloves and instep guards are required and the brief summery of judging is as follows,

1. A bout is broken into 3-3 minute rounds with 1 minute rest in between,
2. each bout is scored by 3 judges
3.a fighter recieves 1 point for a cleanly landed punch, 1 point for a cleanly landed kick or knee, and 1 point for a takedown. a standing 8 count, 30 seconds or greater of riding time, or a throw in which feet and back clear greater than a 45 degree angle are also 3 points
4. in the event of a knockdown the controlling fighter has the option to attempt to place his opponent in a submission, unless the refferee feels the fighter is in danger in which case he will issue a standing 8 count. and decide if the bout should continue. However if the controlling fighter does not choose to mount, the fight is brought back to the feet.
5. 3 standing 8 counts in a round or 5 in a fight and the bout is stopped.

allowable tequniques'
1. closed fisted punches/ on gound allowed/ closely watched
2. kicks
3. knees while standing
4. elbows while standing
5. armbars, simple leglocks, chokes (Referees discretion saftey paramount)
6. throws, sweeps, takedowns

disallowed
1. strikes to the groin
2.eyegouging
3.fishhooking the mouth/ biting
4. pulling of hair
5. knees or elbows on ground.
6. using ropes, or any saftey gear for leverage (no grabbing headgear as handle.)
