I think Kimo will win(by decision or sub or TKO) because he's been more active than Bas and he'll come in stronger and better conditioned than he's been in the past. Kimo's striking is still improving with his K1 fights....but, his grappling has gotten so much better. He is by now, an awesome wrestler with many submissions.............I hope Kimo submits Bas(who i can see winning only by decision)
If Kimo loses big deal, the pressure is on Bas. |

I say he survives (barely) the first round, then goes down in the second.

What weight class will this fight be in??? Bas is a LHW(205), and Kimo is a HW(230). Kimo is younger(by 3 years) and his last mma fight was in 2005 against one of the best, Minowa. Bas's last fight was in 1999 against Kevin Randleman in which he won by a close decision. Kimo is bigger, he is a better grappler, probably not THAT good at submissions but he can defend against them and use his grappling for other things. Kimo is more athletic and im sure his endurance and stamina has gotten better. I think Bas is less evolved than Kimo, who has faced more modern day competition. I dont know whats with all the Bas nutthuggers but do not count KIMO out.

Haha, although I accidently voted for Bas, I wanted to say it will be a close fight and perhaps go to an unlikely DRAW. Both are strong guys with good striking and grappling skills.

I just caught a rebroadcast of Kimo's fight with Royce Gracie. Man, that guy was a freaking beast! Here's a guy who forced Royce to go to the limit just by his own strength and fighting spirit. If he had just one iota of skill on the ground in that fight, he would have worn Royce out and won the match. If I remember correctly, Royce did bow out from the following match for that very reason.
An upgraded Kimo with grappling skills on the mat should be an even harder opponent to defeat. Bas on the other hand, needs no introduction. I don't have any favorites here for this one, but it should be a good match. |
