That's awesome. I get a lot of harrassment for being a girl in MMA but even more for being a Christian in MMA. I mean Martial arts is strictly for self defense in my view, depends on what kind you train in I suppose. But then again there is sparring.... I don't know it can easily be argued.

Vale Tudo allows strikes. Here's the definition from wikipedia:

Vale tudo (Portuguese for anything goes) describes competitions in unarmed combat having minimal rules, especially up until the modern day mixed martial arts competitions. It is also sometimes also considered a combat sport and style of fighting in itself. The term vale tudo comes from the name of a television show that aired in Brazil starting in the 1960's. The show was a telecast of style-versus-style fights hosted by Hélio Gracie, which later changed into a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament followed by the victor fighting an invited opponent of another style in a vale tudo bout.

You could call it an Amateur Vale Tudo Tournament, I guess. Which isn't 100% accurate, since you have many same-style matches happening that will be more like demonstrations. But if you need something to put on a flyer, you could try that.

TangSooDoGirl, I'm not a Christian but almost all the guys in my MMA group are. There's tons of Christian MMA folks out there, lots of Catholics too, though they don't always advertise the fact.

I also ordered the ring it will be 18' X 18' and 14' X14' inside the ropes, the surface is by Dolumer and it is 1 5/8" of firm padding perfect for movement, but still enough cushion for grappling, I am still in need of fighters, all winners get a very nice Title belt and I am working on Blackbelt magazine coming out for the event, let me know if you are interested, I can send you a packet, I need addresses! thank you
