Default how to escape with hands pinned

could someone tell me how to escape when you have an attacker on top (either mount or guard) and they have your hands or wrists pinned to the ground?

thanks

Has anyone ever sucessfully escape from a full mount in a professional fight? I heard a lot of theories on how to do it, but I never saw it before.

Would love to hear the answer to that question. I had my wrists pinned while grappling last week and the first time it happened I just pulled my knees up and tried to get my feet on the dude's hips to control the hips...I was somewhat effective, I guess... Second time I managed to eventually work my wrists out by pulling sideways (against his thumb and index finger) but he didn't have that good a grip and wasn't expecting it.

And also if they have your arms pinned. That was my trick on same guy when I was in his guard. I just held his arms down. He got confused and frustrated and kept saying, "Damn, she's really good" and trying to use force although I had leverage...

We are newbies so I'm not claiming we know anything... Just trying to get more answers rolling.

you could bridge your hips up or you could try to crab out from between their legs..sometimes i get caught with my wrists pinned and i would rather have them above my head than by my side because then they could to a key lock or something like that.

Your hands pinned with both their hands?

Thats not a problem... not at all.. think about it logically.

They want to hit you, they need to let go of your hands..

Someone mentioned a keylock, they have to let go of one of your hands.

I can think of some passes where you dominate both hands and then dominate the one hand, then proceed to pass. But if they are using both hands to control both your hands, why are you in danger, they cant hit you , or submit you.

Bingo.

Unless there are multiples involved. I've taught women 50+ lbs smaller than me to escape from the mount. At some point, the attacker will have to move his or her hands to do what they are trying to do, unless they are trying to bite you.

Because you can't hit or submit them either.

I guess I should point out that the excercise I was doing was where one person would try to do the technique and the other person would try to stop them from doing it, so maybe it was more frustrating than it would be in a real fight where you can just wait for an opening.

Who cares, isnt not getting hit/submitted always your first priority?

In a tournament or MMA match, them pinning you down like that will be seen as stalling, and you will be stood up to a neutral position, or have your positions reversed.

In a fight, your not getting hit, thats always the most important thing.

Besides unless the person has a huge weight advantage on you (the gravity pushing down), you should be able to break free of a simple grip on the wrist by simply squirming. Never mind using your hips/feet to push them away and make space from gaurd, or bridging/hip escapes from when your in the mount.

If they are mounting you, would it be possible to upa to a side and bump them with your knee at the same time to make them let go of your wrists? You can always follow through with a sweep or something from there.

I learnd that if he has hold of your wrists and has them pinned beside your head push your wrist straight up about your head rock onto one hip then suddenly to the other hip it'll roll them right off.... (Learned it at a womens self defense seminar might not be too helpful in an actual fight.)

Uh, that only works on guys that aren't trained. At least for me. The only way it works for me against trained guys is when I block their leg and arm on one side and push with my other arm (easier at a 45 deg. angle) while bucking as explosively as possible.

I've found that I really need use of at least one arm if the guy has any training at all, or weights more than me (which is everybody.)

Yeah, I just simply need to work on ground work a lot.... never really done any ground work training.
