Default Amature Vale Tudo Question, Equipment problemb

I am hosting and fighting in an amature Vale Tudo (MMA really) tourney in Dec. I began training for its specific rule I am having a problemb any one know how to adjust your drop step for a double leg while wearing shin/instep guards, I really need some help, I am currently trying Huges's Spear double which has no drop step, but I find myself going back to what I know!

ps- shameless plug we are still looking for fighters Vale tudo (which is mma with headgear, gloves & shininsteps) 1 - lightweight up to 155
1-welterweight up to 170
1 middleweight up to 185
1 light heavyweight up to 205
1 heavyweight up to 260
