TV cage fighter held over £53m raid
The extradition of a martial arts expert arrested in Morocco in connection with Britain's biggest cash robbery is likely to take many months, police have said. Lee Murray was detained in the capital Rabat on Sunday afternoon on suspicion of robbery, kidnap and other offences linked to the £53 million Securitas raid in Tonbridge, Kent, four months ago. Known as Lee 'Lightning' Murray, the 26-year-old from Sidcup, south London, is a well-known cage fighter, which is a mixture of kick boxing and wrestling where contestants fight in a cage. He has appeared on television and nearly died last year when he was stabbed outside the Funky Buddha nightclub in London's Mayfair after a Page Three model's birthday party. A Kent Police spokesman said: "It is Kent Police's understanding that some news agencies are reporting that the extradition could be as soon as tomorrow. "It is our understanding, following consultation with the Moroccan authorities, that the process is likely to take many months." Murray was one of four men arrested by Moroccan police at the Mega Mall shopping centre. The other three, who are understood to be from the UK, are not believed to be wanted by British police. Mohamed Chakir, Rabat-based reporter for French news agency Agence France Presse, said 50 armed police surrounded the shopping centre - which was not particularly busy - and closed off the exits. Officers slashed the tyres of the men's black Mercedes car with a knife to prevent them escaping, he said. They were then detained outside a shop. |

Note to self: Flee to a country that DOESN'T have an extradition treaty with Canada!

Murray is in Morocco now and he's NOT going to be extradited to Great Britain. He already served his jail time(8 months) in Morocco and is now a free man. He's still has a shit load of money left over too.
He beat the system. |
