Since I go to school in Richmond and live in Virginia Beach during the summer. Im looking for a BJJ class to take while Im in school. Ive narrowed it down to 2 main schools. This school is walking distance from my place and I really like the fact that I can go from school to BJJ class without a car http://www.richmondjiujitsu.com/
The second school is about a 15 min drive from my place, but I know some people that go there and they recommend it. http://www.bjjclub.com/ If you guys could look through these two sites and let me know your opinion. Of course Im going to go to both schools and check it out for myself, but I just wanted to get your thoughts. Thanks Jered |

I've known Andrew from another BJJ forum for several years now. His school is a very tight, a family atmosphere type of school where everyone trains and are friends outside of the school...
They hang out and watch the UFC, have barbecues and parties. I don't know anything about Joe's school. check them both out but Andrew's Jiu Jitsu is really good and from what I hear, he's a great instructor too. He competes all the time. |

Thanks for the info. I'll check both schools out when I get to Richmond next month. Do you know if Andrew's school is a competition school or more of a self defense school?

I believe Lloyd Irvin has an associated school in the Richmond area, although I cannot personally vouch for his teaching ability a friend of mine trained with him and raved about how good the instruction was. Maybe another one you might want to look into. =) Who do you train with in Virginia Beach area?

I studied at Linxx a long time ago and with one of Franks students Wahsei Miran, back when I was stationed in VA Beach area. Both are great instructors, Linxx is a great facility, good choice.
