Don't start your hOmo tirade again, miss. There's been more than enough from you already. Don't you have a parade to march in or something?

Here's a theoretical example of what I mean... A lad that's had a few too many bevies starts shoving/threatening you and you're not in a position to just talk your way out of it or run away. He throws a few haymakers. You cover up/clinch/trip him & get topmount (he's not surrounded by mates to kick your head!). Now... I don't want to be punching this guys face, so when he tries to push me off I armbar him. Now I'm sat to one side with the armbar gently on. He's screaming obsceneties at me etc. I say "settle down or I'll break your arm". There's the bluff. He's just some kid who can't take his drink, and I don't really want to hurt him. Do do I a) use the leverage with his wrist & my legs to turn him over so I can crank his arm behind his back. or b) sit back on top & hit him until he gives up. or c) turn him over & RNC. or d) break his arm. or e) get up. He'll prob get up & want another go to satisfy his now dented ego. Personally, I'd go for the first option unless I was in real trouble, but it's easy to take tapping for granted in class. On the street the guy may not 'submit' so the submission may be for real. What are your thoughts, guys? |

You ask him to stop and if he decides not to, you go for the choke.
If you are not willing to punch him on the floor, are you willing to punch him standing up?

If you are so concerned about not hurting someone, it seems that busting their face open and maybe taking a few teeth is not going to suit you as well as simply using positional control to make them feel helpless for a minute so they can re-evalutate what they want to do. Then, if needs be you can put in a choke, or bash their head against the floor until they decide to take a nap, or whatever else you choose.

I'm not saying that if you choke, armbar, ect. him/her they will want to continue fighting. First let me say this was before I knew how to choke someone until they were OUT with minimal effort. In my experience a few of the stuborn people would try to start fighting again after you let them go. And lets remember that this young man is still in high school. I don't think breaking an arm is even an option. If you apply a sub and don't put them out or break something they may get up and talk themselves back into the fight. If you punch them in the face or body they feel that longer usually. Another thing is some people only understand being punched or kicked.

No. Nobody misunderstands being put to sleep or having an arm broken. Very few people misunderstand being forced to suck on the dirt helplessly for several minutes either.

Breaking an arm isn't an option, but removing his teeth is? Well, ok...
