After the heady of the first UFC's (remember "Bloodsport"?) it's all become SO formulaic:
1) Nobody trains to lose, so everybody trains a wrestling-submission-muay thai-boxing mix; 2) Guard is useless against the fence. Just drag them there and start the ground and pound; 3) The irony is that it's gonna be up to the standup fighters to bring back some flash to the UFC, that is, something different from the taekdown + ground & pound formula. |

Personally Id like to see 2 great fighters with no time limits, like it used to be |

Funny how people say that Royce Gracie was trained in Muay Thai before fighting Matt Hughes. Anyone that watched the fight saw that Gracie was a disgrace to Muay Thai or any other striking art. He didn't even kick like a MT fighter and his kicks have no power.

thats because he "trained" in Muay Thai, and isn't a Muay Thai "fighter". I clearly seen in the pre fight videos before the fight ever happened that he was training some Muay Thai. Almost his whole pre fight video was showcasing his standup Muay Thai type training if I remember correctly.
