After watching Babalus last 7 or 8 fights, including his decemation of Jeremy Horn, Shogun, and the reigning world heavyweight BJJ champ in one night, and then seeing the UFC inside access last night on Spike about how Babalu trains, I have to say, yet again, that Chuck is in big, big trouble. I really liked Babalus training on the beach where he'd carry his training partners around in the deep sand, using human body wieght and off balance ground to build balance and strenght, its awesome.
ITs is a great match up. Chuck MAY prevent a take down and KO Babalu again, but I doubt it, I see Chuck going down and losing by via RNC. You heard it here first. Babalu by RNC or decision. Esp. with all this hype about Wand fighting Chuck, what they hell is Dana thinking overlooking Babalu like that???

Missed Inside Access last night (had a power outage). I had heard Babalus training was pretty intense, and I have seen some of his previous fights. He is dangerous that is a fact. You can't just overlook him, but I think if Liddell can keep him standing he will knock him out, and honestly I think Lidell CAN keep it standing, he has great takedown defense...
Chuck always trains hard, and I have never seen him unprepared for a fight so that is not something in contention. Do you really think Babalu is ready to go toe to toe with Lidell, do you think his takedowns are strong enough to bring him into his realm? He definitely has the advantage on the ground, if he can take Lidell there. I guess we will see... I think it will be a great fight, and I honestly would like to see Babalu win it... |

You know, I've never seen Liddel groundfight. Well, except in Couture vs Liddel 1 where he was spanked, so that doesn't really count. I kinda want to see Liddel playing guard position. I wonder what that'd be like.

Well Chuck reminds me of Cro-Crop. He is a great kickboxer with great takedown defense. I think chuck can defend well from the guard but he is up against Babalu who is too good at BJJ. Chuck does not want to get in that position. I think Chuck will be able to keep it standing and win. If the fight goes to the ground and Babalu gets in a good position then Chucky is in trouble. I think Cro-Crop is better from the guard then Chuck though. I heard Chuck is getting his brown belt in BJJ soon. He has at least a purple if he has to get in the gaurd. I do not want to see him in that position though.

Can't wait for that fight...hopefully this next UFC will be a hell of lot better than the last one. Chuck is a good fighter and nevers seems worried about what is going on in the ring. I guess thats why they call him the Ice Man. I would like to see Chuck win only because he wins standing and it drives the ground fighters crazy...but as I love the ground game too I would like to see it go to the ground to see if Chuck has improved in that area.

I wonder where Liddell's ground game is really at... if he ended up in guard, Do you think he could get back to his feet? Could he keep Babalu from passing? I would like to see how far Chuck's ground game has come, I mean he's no stranger to grappling... but roughly where on the spectrum do you think he is?
Just a thought, what if he can handle Babalu on the ground? How dangerous would Chuck be if he had that level of skill on the ground? Also, what about a Wand vs. Babalu matchup? Any thoughts on that if Babalu does defeat Chuck? (Just thought I would keep the discussion going) |
