Default Striking speed

How do you get your striking speed up, anyone got any good drills for it, oviously you can go on the bag alot, just want to know what everyone else does to get it up.

I will just speak from personal experience, I am not a boxing trainer but I have been working my boxing for a few years now and I will just relate what I went through in my progress from Novice to Intermediate.

When I started training I asked the same question "How do I get faster?", because, well frankly everyone was faster then me. My Coach pretty much ignored me and made me focus on learning proper technique and getting my rythm and timing.

For me I found that once my technique was sound, the speed AND power followed quickly thereafter. I never really had to do anything out of the ordinary to focus specifically, it just started to come. Your basic bag work, sparring and personal attention from your Coach/Instructor should help bring it all together in time. Be patient, work hard and you will continue to improve...
