Fist UFC 63: Penn -vs- Hughes 2

Oh yeah, it's official. GSP is injured and Penn is replacing him. This is the rematch we've all been waiting for...

http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/...2532&zoneid=13

Who has the best chance winning this time? Fight analysis anyone?

How did St Pierre injure himself?

As much as I like BJ, I was really excited about the Hughes/St Pierre fight. I think that recent loss to St Pierre took a lot of wind out of BJ's sails. BJ's gonna really have to work on his cardio if he wants to hang with Hughes.

If BJ doesn't finish Hughes in the 1st, I think Hughes will win.

Man, I was looking forward to the GSP vs. Hughes fight...

Hmmm, the Penn vs. Hughes fight is a tough call. Penn's conditioning is in question, I agree with JaredExtreme on that 100%. I think Hughes will be better prepared for Penn's ground game this time though. I think we can expect a tough battle as long as Penn is prepared to go the distance...

Anyone that trains knows that when 2 guys go at it, like this, the results will be the same time and time again,. Penn will spank this pseudo-champ like he last time, easy, and take the title. Hughes doesnt have near the ground game to even step out there with Penn. Result will be the exact same thing RNC.

I just hope the fight is worth it.
Of course a win by Penn would remind Hughes that ...

Well, that's a stupid thing to say. Anyone who really understands high-level, high-pressure competition knows that it's beating a good competitor the second time that's really tough. After beating someone two times you start to build a real pshychological edge over him, but the second time he is really fired up.

Hmm, how come GSP got a decision win over Penn? Didn't Hughes beat GSP? So if Hughes beat GSP and GSP "won" over Penn..maybe it's just conflicting styles and it means nothing? Hughes' ground game has gotten better since the last he fought Penn. Of course, I"m rooting for BJ Penn but ever since Hughes DESTROYED Royce....I'm not so sure. It's like everyone predicted Couture beating Liddel a second or third time...and Liddel won both rematches. Just my thoughts.

I don't think that is a constant by any means. Hughes is a smart figther, you can't deny that. He is going to have improved in the area he felt caused him to lose that match. Obviously that would be the ground game. He is going to be better prepared for Penn's jitz, you can't say his ground game is week. He just walked over Royce...

I think to assume Penn can walk over Hughes just because he won last time is the same ignorance that caused Royce to lose his match. Hughes will be ready for Penn this time. He will bring him a much stronger game... I predict Hughes by knockout....

Hughes by brutal fucking domination.

That's all I'm gonna say, and I think the reasons are pretty obvious why.

Matt Hughes will give BJ Penn a long overdue serious beating!

BJ Penn is very boring fighter to watch and though sure he is in shape always looks tubby & bit fat.

Matt Hughes is far better than he was last time, BJ hasn't really improved much if at all.

Thank you.Alot of you are also forgetting the fact thay Hughes barely trained for BJ and took him Super lightly....this time around Hughes will be fired up for the win...prob by TKO.It sucks horribly that GSP was injured i was really looking foward to this fight....and by the way jaredextreme he injured his groin severely.
