Thanks, I've seen it. I must have rented "CHOKE" a half dozen times. I thought I saw Yuki fight in UFC but now I realize it was in choke. Man I watch a ton of fight films.......................

That Japanese guy sounds awesome. Certainly inspiring and gutsy. And to think I know people round here (where I live and work) who think the Japanese suck at fighting. Idiots!!

Kimo Black Belt TKD
Chuck Liddlell Kempo or Kenpo
Diego Sanchez, Black Belt, style I don't know

Help me out please!!
Kimo is no black belt unless you count him an expert in dragging crosses to the Octagon. You could call him a Joe Son Do black belt ... or you could say that's what Joe Son told him to say since he didn't have anything else to put in that blank on his application.

When I get time, I'll research my Black Belt Magazine archives. He is listed as a TKD Black belt back in a early 1990 issue. I'll post the magazine date and volume and page number. I'll probably get to it this weekend.

Don't forget BJ Penn. He's a BJJ black belt of course.

He's since admitted that was a lie. He said that when he was approached about participating they asked him his style and since he had none he did what many ch____tans do in such instances. Same deal with Goodridge. I've never seen Kimo kick higher than his knee.

that must be where the 'de la hiva' hooks come from

Default alleviate my ignorance please

In the video with the Aoki guy, what precisely is he doing when he grabs his ankle and pulls his leg up behind the other guy's neck? I've seen this dozens of times but never have I seen anything come of it. Is it a way to set up a triangle or something?

Bingo....it's called the Rubber Guard by most people and its used to set up a Triangle Choke when you have head control and an overhook......when the leg comes up it's used to control the head and you can use your hands to finish locking in the submission....Jason countered this technique well by passing his hips and legs over Aoki's leg and forcing Aoki to abandon it and retain Guard....and Triangle him again.
