im in new york for college and im not sure what there is for martial art schools around. i cant seem to find anything online. does anyone know of any bjj or boxing or muay thai or anything thats reasonably priced in the manhattan area?

there are a bunch of places in Manhattan. Renzo Gracie has a place down near 30th and 6th (or 7th) , not 100% positive, but he is there for sure. If you are adventurous, across the river i NJ (a Path ride away) a co-worker of mine trains in Philipine Stick fighting, Eskrima I believe. I would need to get the info from him, let me know if you want it.

Clooney - just pick upa phone book or village voice. You can also try the MA supply stores like BLT or honda for info.

I studied with Marcos Santos for years. Aside from the fact that he is a great teacher and a good-hearted guy, he makes it a point to have students "leave the ego at the door" which makes for a great training atmosphere. Check his school out.
There is also a Doce Pares school in Jersey City. I also trained there yeras ago. They are now in the Journal Square are I believe, so it's right off the PATH station there. |

Kioto Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has schools in Massapequa, Port Jefferson and my school in Sayville. Best BJJ schools on the island under Grand Master Francisco Mansur. Kiotobjj.com, kiotobjjny.com, kiotobjjli.com
