Default Looking for BJJ in NYC

Preferably one without a contract thing. I looked at Renzo's (right?) and some guynamed Fabio, but it both seemed like they required contracts to join. I won't be here all year around, so that's not really an option for me.

You can always talk to each school and see if they will let you go month-to-month tuition, but it will cost you more. Remember those schools got to pay the bills too... You will be hard pressed these days to find a school that's not contract based.

Carmine Zocchi is a BJJ brown belt under Marcelo Mello and teaches at www.NYSanDa.com

His classes are either $120 per month if you pay EFT or $600 for 6 months

I would highly recommend Anderson's Martial Arts, where I train (www.andersonsmartialarts.com). Sifu Dan Anderson is a brown belt under Vitor "Shaolin" Ribeiro, who visits the school several times a year to conduct seminars and award rank. There are a number of good purple belts and blue belts among the instructors and students, and although people train hard the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The school offers reasonable monthly contracts (sorry, but I'm not sure of the exact fees as I am on an annual contract). You can also train JKD, Muay Thai and FMA here if you are interested.
