Default Kimura from the guard

I keep seeing these guys in MMA going for Kimuras from their guard. ITs an excellent No Gi/Gi move, but the foundation for it is to start a sweep so the opponent puts his arm down to make base, when he does that you grab the arm. I see many guys just reaching back and trying to take the arm, wont work like that, not too often. And when you cant get the arm you can go for the guillitine

I like this move. When I do a Kimura from the guard I just isolate one of my opponents wrists, same hand to same side wrist. They in a twisting motion reach my head to the elbow of the isolated arm, I also reach around my arm behind that arm and secure my own wrist. Now leaning back down and diving my head toward the mat, the Kimuro goes right into the back of my opponents back. Tap and its over.

Check out the kimura setups on this video and you will see other options that I believe you will like.

A guy on mma.tv did this video. I wish I could take the credit;but, I can't.

The kimura is one of the better guard submissions, but it's hard to close down if his arm isn't based... so yeah.. you're right there.

Ahem, to show their GJJ "technicality", of course. Rolls Gracie is dead. You guys can stop now.

"Kimura from the Guard"...I wonder what they'll post next? "How to NOT get your back mounted"? I also see that a lot in MMA.

Executing the Kimura from the guard is a LOT harder than you think. Try sweeping someone while he's punching you in the face so you can get a Kimura. The psychology alone will tire you out.

.
No shit sherlock, the point was if youre going to execute the move, you may as well do it correctly, so you have a chance of it succeeding, which is one reason it fails time and time again in MMA.
GJJ techincality? Thats what seperates the good from the great, the techinque. ANd Rolls might be dead, but his students are alive and well, fucktard

I try to not spend much time in the guard... I usually scissor-sweep to mount and work from there.

Yeah, his STUDENTS are alive and well....and your POINT? Also, point out any of Rolls' students fighting in MMA. GOD please. Please prove me wrong, it gets me high. Yeah, that's what I thought.

Omo, it's people like you who critisize other people in MMA matches about what they do wrong. It's easy to say they did this and then try to pretend you're some MMA expert. I'm sorry....what's YOUR MMA record? I'd like to see you in the UFC to try that Kimura from the guard and succeed. You do that, I'll bow down to you everyday. Oh wait, that's right LOL. You couldn't even execute a triangle choke to SAVE YOUR LIFE. And you wanna come and give tips on how to execute a Kimura from the guard? Get the **** outta here, kid. No wonder everyone bashes on you everytime you open up your cocky mouth.

And I dissed this topic because it was....uh redundant. You wanna post another topic about how to CORRECTLY execute double leg takedowns please, Omo? Since also in MMA, lots of grapplers execute crappy takedowns.

Sorry, I just hate stupid people who think they know it all and haven't done shit. Like uh, critisizing MMA fighters on how to execute Kimuras when HE himself has NEVER had any experience in MMA. GJJ isn't MMA, so don't go thinking just b/c you tapped your buddy in class, you're a world expert on submissions.

Omo Plata, WHY do you act like this?

Calling people fucktards for having an opinion you don't like?

It makes me wonder just how much you know about what you're saying, tough guy.

FIrst off asshole, this messege board is BJJ and MMA, I was talking about a BJJ move that is done in MMA often, remo. and at least I would execute the move properly and thus INCREASE my chances to pull it off, instead of failing before i even started. So I have to be an MMA fighter to know about MMA moves? IF thats the case, you must not have ever even seen 1 MMA fight in your life. LOL. I musta touched a soft spot in that dim-witted-anterior-ganglion that you call an excuse for a brain. I didnt criticize ,I pointed out a common mistake. Funny, you havent pointed out shit except to try and bash Rolls Gracie who trained the greatest BJJ practioner of all time; Rickson, and who was the only person to ever tap out Rickson after he turned 17yrs old and the who was arguably the best BJJ fighter ever.
Rolls Gracie fighters he trained before he died:
Carlos Jr, Romero Jacare Cavelcanti, Pedro Sauer, Marcelo Bhering, Crolin Gracie, all five Machado brothers ,Fabio Santos, and his protege Rickson Gracie
So you can go down the tree from there FUCKTARD, we can start with Fabio who trained Dean Lister, the best grappler in the world right now. If I started with Carlos Jr fighters Id fill up the page, but we can mention Babalu for kicks. Though Liddell has his number, he is still a bad ass MMA fighter.

So if you require any further complete mental domination, put your chicken fingers on that stolen keyboard you 'borrowed' from Kmart and try to stumble onto a sentence or thought, that'd be a neat trick

Now even though its Omoplata.. ya cant argue with that....

I wouldnt say lister is the best grappler in the world though, but thats another discussion...

Pwnage by name dropping.

. Drop some names if you think he isnt, please amuse us all. There isnt any dispute there, but its going to fun to watch him and either Jacare or Roger go at it in the next ADCC, DEan has his hands full either way

Roger Gracie, Jacare, Marcelo Garcia and Xande would do better than Dean imo... Probably lots of others. He's a top grappler, just not the best.

Might wanna re-read that. I said FIGHTING IN MMA, not teaching or doing grappling only tourneys. I also WAS NOT bashing on Rolls Gracie, if anything, I have the greatest respect for him. Homo, I mean uh Omo, please POINT OUT where I bashed Rolls? I only said he was dead and that you need to stop pretending you're technical LIKE HIM. Never once did I bash a Gracie, let alone Rolls. And I already know he trained Rickson who is NOW RETIRED from MMA. Need I specify EVERYTHING for you? Okay, I'll RE-WORD for you, Homo I mean uh Omo.

"Please list ANY MIXED MARTIAL ARTISTS that is trained by Rolls Gracie that is NOW CURRENTLY FIGHTING in MMA and NOT GRAPPLING ONLY."

Is that better?

No, you didn't just "point out a common mistake," you indeed did critisize how today's MMA fighters can't pull a Kimura from guard and you give shit tips on how to pull moves you can't even do yourself. And yeah, to be able to give tips on how to...no wait, I'm sorry, let me WORD IT SPECIFICALLY for you Homo, I mean uh Omo. To give PROPER AND CORRECT advice on how to apply BJJ moves in MMA, you need actually do it yourself. What are you, Omo, another Marc Laimon on TUF 4? Please THINK before you speak. It's like giving tips to a COMPETITIVE swimmer that he/she needs to swing their arms wider if they wanna get a faster start up in swimming, but you NEVER swam yourself.

Back to my original "bashing", it's EASY to say one thing and do another. You "point out a common mistake" but you have NO IDEA how hard it is to pull a Kimura from the guard with punches being thrown into your face.

Dean Lister isn't a Rolls Gracie trained MMA fighter, although he's good. I said a ROLLS GRACIE STUDENT, not the student of Rolls Gracies's students. But this Rolls Gracie thing is really uh out of relevance. I simply said you're NOT technical like Rolls. Maybe I hit a soft spot on you?

Now that I think about it, maybe I should've used the term HYPOCRITE instead. Again, GJJ/BJJ is NOT, I repeat, NOT MMA.

Actually, you can. Omo just listed some people who isn't a direct Rolls trained MMA, that's, MMA fighter minus Rickson, who's long retired. Who you trying to fool, Omo? You list....irrevelant names. I said MMA fighters, not GJJ-only fighters. But again, Rolls Gracie or his MMA fighters aren't relevant to this issue. Whether Rolls' students compete in current MMA or not, still won't take away the issue that you're a hypocrite still, Omo.

And on a side note, I also gave an opinion that pulling a Kimura from the guard is not as easy as one thinks. And you blow up to pieces, Omo? Who's hitting whose soft spot? Hmm? Please feel free to make some excuses for your behavior.

Social Psychology is my soccer field, son.
