So finally, Pride Fighting Championships is having their first show on our soil next week. This show will completely blow away all the UFC's you guys have ever ordered, without a doubt. The big fights on this card will feature the greatest fighter in the world, Fedor Emelianenko, along with Josh Barnett, Mark Coleman, Kevin Randleman, Shogun Rua, Vitor Belfort, Dan Henderson, Nastula, Mark Hunt, and many others. Think of about 4 UFC main events, and put them into this card.
The Main event will feature the return of Fedor Emelianenko after a long lay off due to a hand injury. This Heavyweight machine will be taking on Mark Coleman in a rematch... in which Coleman got armbarred. On to the "co-main event". Shogun Rua will be fighting the Monster Randleman. Since the U.S. rules dont favor Rua's style, i predict Kevin by dec. or possibly a TKO. Shogun's stand up isnt great. He cant knock out Randleman on the feet and cant take him down. Rua can sub him though. Another great fight is Dan Henderson vs Vitor Belfort. The 183 pound paper champion Dan Henderson just lost a decision to Misaki(who will advance to the final four in BUSHIDO). Vitor is coming off a KO victory to Takahashi. Ofcoarse i want Belfort to win. Dan gets cocky with his stand up and will pay the price for it this time. If Vitor lets his hands go, we could see one of the greatest finishes in MMA history. Here's the full card... http://www.pridefc.com/pride2005/index_new_temp.php Im definetly ordering this next weekend. Last edited by 7r14ngL3Ch0k3; 10-15-2006 at 06:36 PM. |

I agree, I'm super psyched for this event. I looked at the last UFC card, and it was so bad I didn't even bother downloading it. I'll definitely be downloading real deal !!

Pride is way better:
-No cage for the techniqueless automatons to hold people against -Rounds are much longer and favor skilled ground fighters to apply submissions, its almost impoosibe to do in 5 minutes unless the skill set is much greater than the opponent. The fighters are better and dont have to train for a 5 minute all out steriod attack. the fighters are better, period |

Here's the Real Deal Weigh in pics:
http://69.46.29.2:8080/absoluteig/ga...64&whichpage=2 You can also go to Sherdog.com for more pics and a video of the weigh ins and press conference. Im stoked for this event. Alot of people on this forum get 10x more exciting for a UFC event though, and that pisses me off. "The UFC" pumps out 1 lack luster main event-one good fight-fights between TUFers- Card, while PRIDE always puts several incredible, main event quality fights on the card. And Oma, your examples on why PRIDE is way better only scratched the surface. Here's my pics for Real Deal in bold. There's other fights on the card but i dont care to much about them. Mark Hunt pulled out cause he couldnt get a Visa pass into the U.S. Fedor Emelianenko vs Mark Coleman Kevin "the Monster" Randleman vs "Shogun" Rua Josh Barnett vs Pawel Nastula Vitor "the Phenom" Belfort vs Dan Henderson |

interesting fight, I think Henderson has the ground advantage since Vitor is really a purple belt , I pick Dan in this one but Vitor by sheer odds is due for a win |

Oh man, this is whats happened so far. Spectacular PPV, great fights so far. Here's how a few of the fights went...
Phil Baroni took the Japanese boxer down right off the bet and submitted him with a hammerlock. Robbie Lawler KO'd Villasenor in the first round with a flying knee and brief GnP. Dan Henderson put on a wrestling clinic against Vitor Belfort winning a dominant majority decision Josh Barnett got dominated by Judo ace Pawel Nastula until Josh reversed him and caught him in a foot keylock. RANDLEMAN CHARGED OUT WITH A POWERFUL DUBBLE LEG BUT THEN GOT COT IN A FOOT HOLD, COULDNT GET OUT OF IT AND WAS THEN KNEEBARRED BY SHOGUN Fedor vs the Hammer up next... Jeez, Coleman is gonna get squashed |

'The UFC' is a scam. Dana White is the scam artist. His goal is to make the most money for himself and his compadres by jipping his fighters, us fans, and spreading his 'ultimate fighting' propagada to anyone who doesnt know shit about MMA through the use of Spike tv. Dont by UFC product, period.
