Default Updated my website MaximumG.com

I just posted a fantastic new article by Jake Shannon on MaximumG.com . Jake is the owner of ScientificWrestling.com and is one of the world's leaders in promoting wrestling as a fighting art. He has worked with everyone from Karl Gotch and Frank Shamrock to Wade Schalles and Mark Schultz.

The article focuses on the history of Catch Wrestling and gives us a quick glimpse into its future.

Check it out and let me know what you think.

Carrying the Torch of Catch Wrestling Across The Generations

While some speculate it began in Ireland, the precise beginnings of catch-as-catch-can wrestling ('catch wrestling' for short) are not known. The first recorded matches contested under its rules (i.e., submission or pin wins the match, best two of three falls, no points, and win, lose, or draw format) began appearing in a small county in England known as Lancashire.

I know a lot of people have viewed this thread and I'm betting several of you have read the article mentioned in my first post on the thread. It would really help me if you would go to Jake's website (Jake is the author of the article) and let him know that you liked the article. I'm sure he'd really appreciate the feedback and who knows, maybe he'll send MaximumG.com one of the instructionals he carries so that I can post a review.

His site is ScientificWrestling.com

And if you're interested in Catch itself or in modern wrestling as a combat art then you really should checkout his stuff.

I just published the first article in the Your Best Jiu-Jitsu series titled Perspective and Skill.

If you want to get good at Jiu-Jitsu, you need to train. But training alone is not enough. You need to train in an intelligent, orchestrated manner so that you can develop the perspective needed to progress your game and move your skill level towards the expert/black belt level. The Perspective and Skill article examines how a Jiu-Jitsu perspective is built and how it aids in the advancement of your Jiu-Jitsu skill level.

I'd love to hear any comments.

Thanks

DJC
