Ouch, the boxer clearly didn't even train how to check the low kicks.

At the beginning of the match when the ref is going over the rules you can hear him tell the boxer "You chose to wear shoes, so you cannot kick." Seems like the boxer really screwed himself over before the match even began.

Even if you had no training at all in kickboxing, why would you want to limit your arsenal!?! I can just imagine the thinking; "I can take him out with just my fists..."

It depends on which fighter can keep his preferred range.

Shannon Briggs (boxing) KO'd Tom Erickson (K-1, MMA) in the 1st round of their bout.

Frans Botha (ex-heavyweight champ) pummeled Cyril Abidi (K-1) during the first of their three encounters. Botha got DQ'd cause he hit Abidi on the way down.

Masato (K-1) fought Vince Phillips (boxing). Here's how it went down.

Masato clearly played the outside game.
