Sak, Rickson, Tyson or Fujita

I have read some people saying they have heard rumors of TYSON fighting Fujita. And they might be willing to offer Mike 30 million for that fight. Rickson on the otherhand wants to much money to fight Sakuraba and thats why the fight is not happening. My question is why not pay Rickson half that amount to fight Sakuraba. Would you rather see Sak vs Rickson or Tyson vs Fujita.

You have to remember that outside martial arts circles, almost nobody knows who Rickson Gracie is (except maybe in Japan).

So that fight would never draw the audience that a fight with Tyson vs. anybody would, although even that audience is dwindling.

Sure we'd all watch Rickson vs. Sak... but we are but a small percentage of the overall population.

exactly true tony10 and thats why I said half of 30 million. And yes maybe 15 million is to much money and yes the promoters of PRIDE would not be able to cough up that much money but you have to agree that Rickson vs Sak would be the best MMA fight ever. This is the number one match up in MMA today and I'm sure PRIDE would be able to pay Rickson a substantial amount of money but you know what I don't think Rickson is up for it.

You have to consider the mass appeal of a Tyson MMA match. EVERYONE knows who Mike Tyson is! Sure, people like us would truly appreciate a Sak v Rickson fight, but we are but a small minority of the consumers out there. Sports fans unfamiliar with MMA would be thinking "Rickson who? Versus Saku-what???" On the other hand, Tyson already has pop culture notoriety as the baddest mofo scary street thug around. Imagine how many people would simply flock to see him in a "no-holds-barred Ultimate Fighting kumite". And there'd be soo much press about how the man who was too wild for the sanitized world of pro boxing is entering the world of "underground fighting".
