Martial Artist, what weight catagory does Uno fight in?
Do you know? I met him once in Japan, and he's really quite small! (no offense to him, he's one hell of a fighter, and it sounds like he showed it even though he couldn't muster the win) Ryu |

Frank has been out of action against top guys for so long I wouldn't even call him a top contender. Sak, Tito, Silva, and Henderson are the top MW's now. I really think that Tito should be a HW because he always looks at least 215 when he fights. Silva barely squeeks into the MW category also. Frank isn't even in the picture. Sitting back is what he should stick with. Any of these guys will destroy him. It's been a long time since he fought with Tito and Tito is way better now. I know we all like Frank because he's a good looking confident all-American boy but let's be realistic here. I'm actually not even sure that Frank could take Renzo or Royce.

Damn...I was hoping the Tito/Tanner fight would be a good long one!!
guess not! For those of you who saw it...Was it a Shamrock/Zinoviev kind of slam?? IMO I think that Tanner took this fight too early... Could've done better with some more fights under his belt... Looks like Tito is the man to beat now....

Yeah it was. You could see Tanner's chin bang off Tito's head when he hit the mat. Tito hit him twice after but it looks like Tanner was out when he hit the mat.
I think they need to look at creating a Light-Heavyweight bracket for guys like Tanner, Tito, Randleman and so on.

Well, it wasn't a Shamrock/Zinoviev slam in the fact that Shamrock double legged Zinoviev and totally drilled Zinoviev's melon into the mat. Tito got the greco roman under hooks and just lifted and slammed. Tanner landed evenly on his back and head but Tito's extra-large melon was right on Tanners jaw. When Tanner hit the mat his head was driven into the mat by Tito's. It didn't look brutal like Shamrock/Zinoviev at all. I was stunned that Tanner was out.
BTW, this UFC was stellar. Rizzo looked good and Barnett was impressive as well. Sinosic pulled a fast one on Horn. Too bad Horn went down so easily into Sinosic's guard. Horn should have been fighting like Pulver did to Uno. Anyone else think Pulver is mini-Miletich with better hands? -hounddog |

I don't know how much Tito weighed in at fight time, but he looked 20-30 lbs heavier than Evan, IMHO. I also would like Tito to fight at Heavyweight. He's definately improved by leaps and bounds, and this was the first time I've seen him in awhile (since I didn't see his fight w/ Silva or Kondo) but he looks like he's been hitting the weights.
You have guys like Frank who weighs in at 194 and Sak who's been fighting in the 180's and Renzo at 180 and they are all top guys in the middleweight division. But then you have someone like Tito who weighs around 215-220, who cuts weight for the weighin and then fights w/ a 20+ lb weight advantage. Then he boasts that he's the baddest in the land......I say he should then fight in the heavyweight division rather than middleweight. He's probably the tallest top middleweight now. Look at his fight w/ Evan. Tanner looked like a little kid fighting an adult since Tito looked much heavier and larger than Tanner. I also thought Josh Barnett's stock went up big time. No one else has ever been able to exchange so evely w/ RIzzo for so long. I only wish Josh would have tried to take it to the ground soooner, before Rizzo caught him. I'd love to see the following fights: Alan Goes vs Vanderlai Silva (headbutts allowed) Sak vs Frank Shamrock Tito Ortiz (220 lbs) vs Igor Vovchanchin (230lbs) Pete Williams vs Ricco Rodriguez Gilbert Yvel vs Bobby Hoffman Jens Pulver vs Royler Gracie Don Frye vs Vitor Belfort MEB Boy |

Martial Artist, thanks for your commentary.
I'm sorry I missed this one. ![]() Tito is DAMN scary. I thought I heard that they have to be under-200 a day before the fight? Maybe that's wrong. A Light-Heavy division would be interesting, but I don't think weight hurt Tanner that much (he is also big). Tito is just a monster. Congrats to Elvis! He is no fluke. Hard to say about Frank. He was certainly rusty against Elvis. We'll see the next time he fights. |
