Planet Tatami: How is the recovery f the injury suffered in the Bshido GP?

Denis Kang: You already fought injuried against Gono, or the injury occurred during the fight? I'm happy to say that my bicep is 100%. It still looks funny but functionality is back to normal. I was going in with Gono, but in the middle is when I hurt my arm.

Planet Tatami: Do you think you had conditions to face Misaki in the Grand Prix Finals?

Denis Kang: The injury confused you in this fight? I was still in condition to face Mizaki because I was still breathing. I would have fought with any injury. This is the nature of tournaments. He was injured as well.

Planet Tatami: When will be your next fight? Which fighter would you like to face in your next fight?

Denis Kang: Mizaki, and then Dan Henderson for the title. I want the belt.

Planet Tatami: What do you think about the UFC MW champion Anderson Silva?

Denis Kang: He's a good champion for UFC. I hope I can fight him one day.

Planet Tatami: Pride recently signed with Joe Doerksen, would you like to have a rematch against him?

Denis Kang: I would definitely jump at that opportunity. The first time we fought I was a still inexperienced and he beat me. I think now I have changed a lot and the result would be different.

Planet Tatami: If you are invited to participate of the Light Heavyweight Grand Prix, would you accept? How much this weight difference would influence in your performance?

Denis Kang: I think I would do it. My normal weight is usually light-heavyweights so it would not make that much difference. It would be a great challenge for me and that’s what I want.

Planet Tatami: Many people say that after the fight between Henderson and Misaki 3, Paulo Filho would be the next challenger to the belt. Do you think that you deserve a title shot first than him?

Denis Kang: I don’t think it's fair to say now. It depends on whom he and I beat next. Definitely we are both close now. Our meeting seems inevitable so I am at peace with it.

Planet Tatami: Which was your hardest fight?

Denis Kang: Fighting Mizaki was definitely my hardest fight so far. This one really pushed me and I learn a lot from it.

Planet Tatami: Do you prefer to use your Stand up skills or your ground skills?

Denis Kang: I like both. Jiu-Jitsu is where my heart is, but I have to admit, punching people in the face is fun !
