Dan Henderson. He fought a good fight, although I'd also say Wandy looked a bit more timid than usual.

And as far as other fights on that card:

I am pissed at Gomi. He needs to start taking all his fights more seriously. That performance was ridiculous.

Im sure all the fights will be up tomorrow. The most stunning fight was Sokoudjou vs Nogueira. Nog was like the 27 to 1 favorite for betting odds. And he got KTFO in the first round. Whoever betted on Sokoudjoe made big bucks. Biggest upset in MMA history.

Nick Diaz....... That fight pissed me off the most, in mma history! Like this one beats hughes getting saved by the bell every match.
Does Diaz even practice striking? I think he pushes pads instead of actually hitting them, should have ktfo gomi. Not that I was expecting it, but Gomi had his hands lowered like all the match.
This is one of the worst Prides I've seen, actually mma shows I've seen, the only fight that satisfied me was shogun vs overeem, at least someone showed they can dominate.

Well Gomi did gas like we've NEVER seen him do before. It was kinda sad that Diaz still couldn't put a basically defenseless Gomi away with 1:40 to go in the round, but give the man credit...he ate a LOT of punishment to get there, and Gomi showed he's got a tough chin to survive that at all.

The Sakurai fight was pretty good, as was Hansen's, although neither was really fighting somebody on their level.
And Henderson Silva was a good fight...come on...the man now HOLDS two titles in 2 different weight classes.

yeah but gomi thought that diaz was a crappy american fighter so he probably didnt train..... at all. and then he got a gogoplata put on him. and then i laughed, thats pretty embarassing for such a high level fighter to get put in a really difficult move. i'm sure gomi is probably not to happy about getting his ass wooped by a ufc fighter either.

I know, and that's what makes it so F-ed up. It's as if he doesn't take non title fights seriously...remember Gomi v Aurelio 1?

His prefight commentary made it seem he wasn't taking this fight seriously at all...probably based on Diaz's record. Then at weigh in, when he should look ripped from cutting weight, he looked fat. I mean FAT. For a friggin lightweight. Unbelievable.

And it wasn't just his cardio that looked bad, he looked a lot less crisp in his striking than ever. Lots of wild looping haymakers, NO kicks, just seemed to try to win with sheer aggression...I don't think the lack of training stopped at neglecting cardio...I don't think he worked hard in sparring either.

Hopefully being publicly humiliated will make him train harder, b/c that was just utter crap from a champion.

On the other hand, I'm surprised Diaz couldn't land the finishing shot to take Gomi out once he gassed. He had over 1:30 to do it on a nearly defenseless opponent.

I think the reason Diaz didnt finish him after he landed that uppercut was because he wanted to put on more of a show. Diaz was taunting him. He knew Gomi was already beat.

The crowd was literally on their feet during that fight though. The first minute or two was really good, but then Gomi gassed.

If I absolutely had to guess, I'd say he was playing it safe. With an opponent like Gomi, he was probably wondering if he was playing possum. Diaz would've done his homework going in and knows Gomi's done multiple fights in a night...not somebody you expect to gas out.

Considering how Gomi was still tossing out the occasional massive shot here and there, it might not have been a terrible idea...and he did still win the fight after all, and would've been leading by judge's scorecards as well even if he hadn't gotten that finish.

That's what I was thinking when Gomi let his hands dropp all the way to his waist. I either thought he was rope a doping, or maybe he lost his vision, because even if you're dead tired you should at least have enough energy to keep your hands at your chin.

And then to be gogoplata'ed...... LOL !!

Not sure how someone can say this was one of the worst MMA events, I practically lost my voice from yelling and screaming. And man, Rogerio getting knocked out was a HUGE UPSET !!

it was that very first inside leg kick that did it. you could tell it really threw him off his game. he was done for after that, and his opponent knew it, thats why he tried to fallow up with the head kick. he didnt even try to counter, he just froze up each time he got hit.

muay thai rocks.
