So the best way I know to take someone's back is when you start with them trying to get leg control, you do the arm drag like move and pull yourself toward them and get an over and underhook, get your knee in, pull 'em up and then sink in an RNC (or whatever you want to do once you have their back.) What are some other ways to take someone's back?

Getting the back is a passive move for me. I will usually attempt to gain position and and submit my opponent. Should they give me their back while they attempt to escape I'll go for their back, sink in the hooks and RNC.
Otherwise, I turtle up(after messing up) and when they try to get their hooks in, I roll foward. This usually puts them on all fours and gives me a small window with which to get their backs. As you can tell I'm not really much of a back person. If i can get it so much the better but I prefer leglocks by far. |
