Liddell/Rampage 2 confirmed for May 26

Tough fight to call. I think Rampage takes it, but i wouldnt be suprised if Liddell KO's him.

this is one of the few times i want chuck to win. i do respect him. i want him to win because he said if he bears rampage he is gonna go after wandy, if he beats wandy he is gonna move up in weight for crocop, if he beats cro cop he is gonna go after fedor... and if he wins he is going to retire. personally id love to see him get Ko'd by wandy... that would bring him right back in the mix of things. crocop would outstrike him and fedor could outstrike him or take him down and rip an arm off.

Rampage looked a little iffy against Eastman, and he was saying he needed better sparring partners as well...don't know if he's managed to take care of that.

On the other hand, Chuck's only fought Babalu and Tito recently, and has been laid off with pneumonia. He'll have about 2 months to come back from being sick and drugged up.

Also on the card rumors are Karo/Burkman will be happening. Always cool to see somebody actually successfully using judo techniques in MMA.

Rampage hasnt been the same fighter since he fought Vanderlei, put him back in Pride and he isnt a top 5 fighter...Put him in the UFC and he gets a title shot...

Another Pride reject, much like Cro Cop who has to come to the UFC to become a contender again

I mean yeah great win, beating Lil Nog would put you there, but not a win like that when your a unknown.

Its no suprise Rampage is getting a title shot right now. Who else is Liddell gonna fight in the mean time, Rashad Evans?(i think Rashad would win BTW)

Sokoudjou is going to KO Arona so badly. Just another glass jawed Brazilian. Besides it makes for good hype since Lil Nog is from BTT too.

Besides, Dana doesnt want to give Rampage warm up fights because he wants him to lose to Liddell.

I actually think Dana is more worried about Rampage LOSING then anything else.

He looked iffy against Eastman, and hypothetically, Chuck only lost b/c of his "torn quad." Whatever.

Anyway, point is, he needs the Chuck Rampage fight to happen...if Rampage lost in between then, it'd be like the whole Wanderlei Chuck nightmare after the Wanderlei losses all over again.

And if Rampage won, I don't think Dana would be upset at all. Chuck is getting old now, and has the interviewing charisma of a wet blanket. Ramapge is F-in hilarious.

That is because imo, Gomi is one of the most overrated fighter ever. That has nothing to do with Pride or UFC. Gomi has never impressed me.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion...but that's like saying you've never been impressed by:

Kawajiri
Pulver
Sakurai
Azeredo

...who are the top LWs I can think of who Gomi has absolutely no contest destroyed.

I'll agree that he's been doing pretty badly lately...but I think it's more attributable to lack of motivation. Still packs bricks in his fists though.

Word is he's been focusing on his grappling/wrestling roots...maybe it's just me, but after his last fight I think focusing on better standup technique would help him more. Hits like a truck, and moves quick, but he tends to strike recklessly on occasion.
He's evolved weird for a guy who started out as a submission wrestler.
