I just saw it!! OMMG!!! I thought Mirko's ankle was broken for sure! I thought I was gonna have nightmares about it. Herb Dean actually put his hand up to his mouth briefly when he sees it, as if saying; "OMG!" then pulls the leg ouyt and straightens it. And then.... the Croatian Sensation gets up and WALKS outta the ring?!?!?!?!!!!! The Man's AN ANIMAL!!! I don't care if he lost. Anybody can get k.o.'d on any given night but he got up, said he was disappointed and walked out of there! I'd still be laying there waiting for the stretcher!
Hey bj! if we're both in FLA, how come you saw it before me? our posts are 1 hour apart and I just saw it.

Yeah...seriously, everybody start confessing your sins, b/c the end of the world MUST be upon us.
I'm trying to wrap my head around things...help me out. MAJOR Upsets of 2007: Couture v Sylvia Diaz v Gomi Henderson v Wandy Serra v GSP Gonzaga v Mirko Did I leave anything out? Rationally speaking of course...this IS an upset...but not a totally unexpected one. I really was worried the instant it hit the ground. I think Crocop throwing that kick was a serious mistake...Gonzaga is of course INSANE for eating a Crocop body kick to get himself a takedown, but when Crocop is "on" he tends to work a guy over with a lot of punches before he goes to the kicks. He seemed very overconfident..both before and during the fight. Point is, he apparently doesn't train against the cage, and I wonder if he's trained against GNP elbows. It reminded me a lot of the Randleman KO. Randleman puts him in a bad spot where Mirko has no game, stalls him, imposes his will on him a bit, then when it gets restarted, he hits Mirko with the LAST thing he's worried about...a punch. Gonzaga...imposes his will from in CC's guard...actually does some serious damage. When it gets stood up, hits Mirko with the last thing anybody in the world would've expected. |

But yeah, that ankle looked NASTY! That's definitely some torn ligaments there. As for the upsets, there were plenty more but they don't get as much limelight as the ones that you mentioned, bigred.

That was a sick knockout. It was a good thing Crocop was loosey-goosey when he was knocked out, cuz if he was tense, things would have snapped for sure.

That was totally unexpected. Gonzaga was beating up Mirko before that while he was on top in his guard throwing elbows. I thought Gonzaga was just going to do that all 3 rounds.
