Default Any good MMA schools in New England?

I've heard Borrellis isn't that good. I'm curious though, has anyone been? And are there any better places in New England?

Thank you though.

The Lauzon brothers, Jorge Rivera, Kenny Florian all train out of schools in MA, if I'm not mistaken.

So did Gonzaga for that matter. I mean...they taught a BJJ guy how to do a death kick. They HAVE to be good.

There are actually quite a lot of mma schools in massachusetts, and a ridiculous amount of shows. Go look around www.massmma.net

hello,

somerville(boston) sityodtong with markdellagrotte. dude runs a TIGHT TIGHT program. VERY good.

clinton, ma massachusetts submission academy with kiethrockel. team elite is there.

northern boston (just north of boston) brazilian top team with daveginsburg.
really really good guy. there are others, he is the only one personally known.

cranston, ri jba with matsantos. good fighter, good trainer, friendly and very reasonable. do not be decieved by the appearance of his school. he has everything you need.

providence, ri timburrill bjj. he trains everyone. he has trained in wrestling, kempo and boxing. if you want mma, he can help (classes are jiujitsu, but he works with other teams too.). and he is awesome guy.

providence? ri manfredos boxing gym petermanfredo. trains pro boxers and mma fighters in thier standup. the kickboxing he teaches in class is karate kickboxking style, but make no mistake, he KNOWs other stuff as well. he might suprise you.

let us know how it goes.

thanks.

Lol as for the Gonzaga statement, you are right! I gotta find that place lol.

I think I found a place that's halfway decent, I'ma gonna check it out and see how it goes.

I actually train with Rivera... he trains at(mentioned in my previous post) TBJJ. (For some reason he has a white belt when training with a gi, but he's a black belt skill wise, I think he's just never trained gi before. I really should talk to him, pretty stupid of me not to think of that before. It somehow never crossed my mind that he could help me... lol.

Lauzon is in Mass? I'll definitly have to check him out.

Naaa dude, I'm just lookin for MMA. I train at Tim's and Manfredos already. And they both run two of the best schools for their respective arts in the country.

Santos... ehhh... I've done jiu-jitsu with him, which is his strong point, but I don't want to train there becuase I could just keep going to Tim(his teacher). It's not worth it to me unless I can find a school that's good at everything, and ties it together. I recently found out about Elite Martial Arts in da bucket, so I'ma gonna see how that goes. I'd rather not go to Mass, but if I gotta I will.

hello,

if MMA is your thing... go see markdellagrotte at sityodtong. he trains ufc fighters... kennyflorian and company.

he alternates nights of muaythai and jiujitsu (no gi) and finishes each night with mma for the fighters.

or you can go to kiethrockel at massachusetts submission academy in clinton. this is team elite.... jorgerivera and company.... good guys.

both places are really really good. very attentive, they believe in building fighters... its not just about the pros. very nicely equiped. good quality curriculum.

both are cheap too... considering what you get for the money... they would be a bargain at twice the price.

thanks.

Thanks man, but I checked out Elite Martial Arts in Pawtucket and it was great. I'm gonna stop going to Manfredos cuz their boxing and Muay Thai instructors are fantastic. The grappling instruction doesn't seem to be great, but I train with alot of wrestlers and I go to Tim's anyway(haven't been in a while cuz of money, but goin back).
