Default Lloyd Irvin

This guy is pissing me off! He took his Black Belt in BJJ in 3.5 years. His student Mike Fowler took his black belt in 4 years and beat renzo gracie and saulo Ribeiro at ADCC like a week ago. His other student Ryan Hall who is a purple belt, competed in an ADCC superfight against some Renzo Gracie black belt and beat him. Yeah he's pissing me off, I want my black belt in 4 years too!

Anyone buy any of his products? He keeps sending me ads about his products, I can't order any of them since I'm not in the USA. But on a serious note, his websites suck. He has like 20 of them and they have way too much writing and testimonials. Anyway tell me what you think.

Ryan Hall was a moderator here for a long time.

Who cares about belts or how much time. If an instructor can teach you how to beat blackbelts in a few months, then perhaps it is deserved.

Of course you can order his stuff from outside the US (I know cause I did )...I like the Grappling Game Plan and his BJJ Seminar DVD. Also Brandon Veras DVD he made. I don't like his Bodyweightbook...nothing new.

Greetings

I tried ordering the Grappling Game Plan yesterday and it said it wasn't available for my area :S anyway, can you tell me a little about the grappling game plans contents? I still don't get anything about it, all his site says is that it will help your game, in lots and lots of different ways.

hello,

it is possible that lloydirvine and those he trains have experience in other systems. mikefowler is said to have been a wrestler (though to what extent is not known).

still, lloydirvine is known for training some really strong competitors.

thanks.

The grappling game plan is less about the techniques, and more about helping you to be methodical and efficient in learning bjj. It helps you to organise, set goals, tie techniques together & have an overall strategy, while giving you lots of positive reinforcement.

IMO It's one of those things that you can look at & think it's all commonsense, then realise that you haven't been very organised at all. Then you realise it's a very useful tool.

Good luck with it.

hello,

agreed. being organized is an often overlooked aspect of training. wonder if the grappling game plan by lloydirvine is similar to the gold mettle plan by rhadiferguson?

thanks.

Wow - just checked the Rhadi Ferguson Gold thang... And the advertising is remarkably similar, even down to the cheesy sales talk LOL.

They sound very similar. Anyone got both?

Their good friends, and I think Rhadi trained with Lloyd too. And yeah they look quite similar from the advertising.

I was interested in his Sponsorship package, too, but it's $500, which I'm not willing to spend without hearing about it.

LOL.
Another advertising TROLL.
This simple gimmick is used to stimulate discussion by pretending to be negative while actually presenting some positive facts about the subject of supposed attack. Others have used this annoying tactic on and off for years.
