That is so pathetic. I know the guy is 38 but honestly, where's his martial spirit? He doesn't train to cover all the angles in an (essentially) no holds barred rule set and so instead changes the rules to suit himself. What a waste.

First, we all know that Morrison's manager was one of the Promoters of this sham of an MMA show; however, very few people know that the owner of the show is Gino Carlucci (not his real name) who just happens to be a felon, claims he is a lawyer even though he has never graduated from college and is, last I heard, under investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission for at least $16 million in fraudulent stock sales.

What did Gino actually do? Just what no other promoter in the country would have by scheduling a bout with HIV-maybe Tommy Morrison. Sure, he had to go out to the middle of BFE on an Indian reservation to make the bout happen but he pulled it off and has probably netted himself a nice little bit of cash . . . Bravo Gino, Bravo.

Thank you for taking Tommy Morrison, who is without a doubt the most controversial individual wading through the trash heap of professional sports and slinging the mud that follows him all across out sport.

I don't blame Tommy. The guy needs to make a living and boxing is the only thing he has ever done well . . . I men, my GOD! Didn't you see him in Rocky? It’s either boxing or selling oranges at freeway off ramps.

The blame for this fiasco rests completely and totally on Gino who has become, in my honest opinion, what you could consider a 3rd rate version of Don King or Bob Arum. And its not that he'll ever make Don King money but he'll dredge our sport through the muck as much and as often as he possibly can if he makes a couple of bucks doing so.

Now, don't go off saying that I'm being duplistic here . . . claiming that its OK for Tommy to make a couple of bucks doing this and not OK for Gino for setting it up. The difference is that Tommy has proven that he really can't do much else, Gino's court record will show that he has other talents.

And now Tommy Morrison will try to cash in on Gino's avaricious nature by claiming that he has proven that MMA fighters are not really athletes, that MMA is not a real sport, that boxing has always been the greater of the two sports . . . when all he has really done is prove that he can out box a 340 pound non-athlete MMA neophyte.

The “fight” was striking only, no ground fighting at all, with no kicks and no knees. They eliminated the kicks and knees 30 minutes before the start of the contest. So, ultimately, what Gino presented was a boxing match with four ounce gloves.

I hope, a futile hope, that the media will report this event as exactly what it was . . . a fraud, a boxing match in MMA clothing, a scam of an absolutely horrendous level.

Please, please, please let’s make sure promoters like Gino understand that we won’t let him defile our sport. Stand up and tell Gino to try to con someone else. Let him know that we won’t put up with it, that we will not support him or any other promoter like him.

And whatever you do make sure the boxing friendly media bottom feeders, that will do whatever they can to continue boxing’s life support, understand that we know what this event was . . . a fraud. If you see, read, or even sniff a report about this event being a display of any sort of Mixed Martial Arts make sure they hear your voice. Call, email, or contact in whatever way you can, the scumbags that try to lend credence to this event and let them know that WE know what it was and we will not let them get away with this anymore than we are going to support Gino’s dancing bear of an MMA show.

That was very articulate, and spot on, DJ. You've addressed the core issue of a truly despicable trend. What's more, you're 100% right.

But Tommy Morrison is still a complete douche.
