hey i just read on the net that carlson gracie is learning Combat Hapkido.
Can anyone confirm this and explain why?
has anyone done this style and if so whats it like?

Might be a Junior? Or was that Carlos Gracie Junior hmm, I lost track. But yes the original carlson gracie died not too long ago..

it was on a combat hapkido website, forget which one now.
apparently he teaches bjj there but also is a student. seems bizarre.
i tried a hapkido class last night, but thats a topic for a new thread!
Back in the late 1980s in Illinois, hapkido sahbumnims were some of the very first martial arts to train with Rickson, and this was long before Royce one the first three of 4 ufc's. It would be no surprise if some bjj guys sampled hapkido. Some hapkido schools do more work on disarming than any1 except 4 FMA, and many hapkido schools are great for real defense.
