This is probably a stretch, but I was born and raised in Brooklyn, Park Slope to be exact. I had the pleasure of learning koga ryu japanese karate from a fantastic instructor named Fred Alluso. He picked a few of us out from the neighborhood that were always in trouble with the law, or coming from broken homes and he taught us discipline, respect, self confidence and how to enjoy and live a martial arts lifestyle. My brother Pete and I learned a great deal from him, we lost massive amounts of weight, we went to our high school proms with good looking girls, in fact my brother Pete married his!
Anyway, I recently drove through the old neighborhood and met up with other three other dojomates. We are all quite confused about what became of him. One of my old chums believes that he died during the 9/11 attacks on the world trade center. He swears he saw his picture on TV and his family searching for him. While yet another friend says that he ran into someone at a BJJ gym in California who swears he learned the biomechanics of stricking from our very sensei just a few years ago. Is this the same person? Does anyone know? Please help. If you know of a way for me to contact him I would be eternally grateful. I owe this man a thanks for helping me get my sh*t together and for helping to guide me to become the proud family and business man I am today.
