Default BJ Penn vs Jens Pulver

Spoilers...

Penn was amazing this match, did very well in first round. And chokes out pulver in the 2nd round, very nice choke, he kept the back trapped pulvers hand and choked him. Even if Pulver could have escaped again, he would have probably been too dazed to continue because BJ landed some nice shots on his head.

Also, Matt Hughes's expression was great haha

I like how BJ pulled a Royce by not taking the choke off even after the ref was telling him to stop and Pulver was tapping frantically.

Regarding the armbar the BJ had on Jens, I felt as though BJ let Jens out of that one, choosing to prolong the beatdown rather than win so soon. What do you guys think?

Regarding the armbar it might've been good enough position to apply breaking pressure but I think the elbow might've been resting in an uncomfortable for Bj to apply breaking pressure so he let it go. Maybe?

Yeah i think that you may be right. But if you watch it closely Bj had his feet crossed which made it easier for Jens to escape.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I wonder if it was deliberate. I find it hard to believe that someone of BJ's caliber would cross his legs if he was serious about the armbar. What do you guys think?

i honestly think he was toying with him. BJ knew he had it won... hell i ahve never seen him in that good of shape either....

Penn dominated Matt Hughes and gave George St. Pierre all he wanted. Pulver was really nothing for Penn, and Penn was toying with him. Penn was picking Pulver up and slamming down hard, and doing so easily. You could see the great difference in strength even though both guys were fighting as lightweights. Penn was in great shape, but he could have tapped Pulver out on Pulver's best night and his own worst night. Pulver's skill as an amateur wrestler (and the vaunted takedown defense of the MFS elite fighters) was nothing to Penn as he threw Pulver around like a rag doll. Pulver is a tough guy with great skills, but he was simply out of his league. The hype of the TUF show never deceived me into believing, for even a split second, that Jens had a snowball's chance in hell against Penn. IMO BJ could either move back up to 170 and win that title, or face the winner of Sherk and Franca,
but
a good fight, very intriguing. would be Penn vs. Florian.
