BJJ rules Vs Judo rules? Need help fast!!!

I need help guys!!!! I'm going to my first judo tournament tomorrow morning but I've only been training in judo for 10 weeks and about 1.5 years in BJJ. I'm use to BJJ tournament rules and I need to know what I can or can't do in a judo tournament. Please help! I don't want to look like an idiot at a judo tournament doing stuff that I'm not suppose to be doing.

as far as i know... you can do anything in a judo tournament that's allowed in BJJ.

just a couple of things that i can think of...

if you go to the ground... you better get to work FAST on a sub or the ref may stand your asses up before you know what hit you! then it's back to defending against the throw. what is the term... "uchi mata"??? when you get thrown clean for an automatic loss? eh, watch out for that. (duh)

having done judo for 10 weeks... i'm sure you know a lot more than MOST of us... when it comes to judo rules.

btw... if you win, i want you to start running around the mat with your arms in the air yelling, "Jiu-Jitsu! Jiu-Jitsu!! JIU-JITSU!!!

If you are a white belt in Judo, all joint locks are not allowed, only chokes. If you flop to guard you will be stood right back up unless you have a choke submission set up. You must also be courteous as Judo tournaments discourage the type of bravado that is prevalent in BJJ tournaments.

Karlinhos --- shame on you!. The type of behavior you are encourgaing in the Judo tournament just further validates the impression that BJJ guys are loud and crude thugs. This just makes the divide between BJJ and Judo wider, and is very sad when many influential BJJ people are trying to mend fences with the established Judo powers that be. You are demoted back to white belt for your obnoxious behavior here.

During practice I noticed that the instructor always stood me up before I could do anything on the ground. I was never allowed to do arm bars becuase I'm not a brown belt and they stand you up very quickly if nothign happens. I was also wondering what joint locks are allowed in judo? After 10 weeks in that class with my BJJ experience I was awarded with a green belt which really didn't mean much too me....I'm stil trying to earn my blue belt in BJJ!!!!!

This post is probably too late but here goes.

Defensive posture is penalized. (bent over, illegal grips etc.).

Stepping off the mat, or being in the red zone too long is penalized.

Joint locks can only attack the elbow.

You really should take a look at the rules on the IJF website. www.ijf.org

Penalties add up fast in judo. Just 4 minor penalties will end the match.
