Ryan the bad, I did say these dirty techniques are our natyural fighting style. That is why we should practice them and harness them, it comes a lot more naturally.
Rob B, I am talking about a life or death situation. If you just want to restrain someone then there is no need to use the dirty techniques. What if someone was holding you down and about to hurt one of your loved ones? If you had to eyegouge or bite to escape would you?

I don't know, maybe Shimora has a good point.
Still, even with dirty techs, nothing can beat a good arm-bar! I'm tellin you!

Shimora, read my posts for God's sakes. Are you ignoring them for a reason?
I said in my first post that I'd never use subs or go to my back in a fight. Then Passive Guy saying the same thing. Then I said I agree with Sperry and then you say, "Its funny how JJ guys still will argue." To fight off your back on concrete or against a guy bigger than you isn't cool. You'll **** yourself up even if you win the fight. Yet when I take someone down and mount them, I'd really like to see them eye gouge me or bite me. In a Triangle or from the guard, its highly unlikely that they will, but it could happen no arguments here. Also, I don't feel the need to train in finger ****ing my opponent; I'd rather train in BJJ or some Boxing instead. Sorry bro

i agree with hookah..in the end you cant escape great positioning..you cant eye gouge successfully from a bad position you have all sorts of things that have to occur before this will happen ...you have to stabilize the opponent then you have to stabilise his head so he cant spin out of it other wise your just grabbing at straws..id love to have an opponent concentrate on eye gouging me to the expense of position ok you might buy time if youre even moderately skilled...but if you cant even punch effectively the guy from a position what makes anyone think they can eye gouge ...the gracies in gracie in action 1 and 2 had guys try dirty tricks and they didnt do very well..which leads me to my main point...THE BRAZILLIANS DIDNT EVOLVE IN A DOJO THEY EVOLVED IN THE STREET IN REAL ENCOUTERS AND IF BJJ TELLS ME TO DO THIS AND THAT THEN THATS WHAT ILL DO..anyone else can just make it up as they go ...so do i expect to get eye gouged in a fight yes will it make a difference in me being successful very probably not..

You have to be familiar with striking, grappling, groundfighting, "dirty" techniques, and weapons, and have adequate-to-excellent physical and psychological conditioning to even have a chance in a real street confrontation.
Actually carrying a weapon is a good idea too. This BJJ vs. "dirty" stuff is silly. You need to know it all. What you don't know WILL kill you. |

I find it amusing that many of you were fixated on my anal probe technique.
Its ironic that the technique originated in Wrestling which according to you chaps is a lethal martial art. So you guys have a problem with wrestling techniques I assume?

Check out the Kino Mutai thread...
http://defend.net/deluxeforums/showt...?threadid=2074 The whole point about biting (or any counter) is not waiting until it is too late to apply it. Bite from the mount! Bite from cross-side, with your shoulder pressed against the other guy's jaw so that he cannot bite you back. If you are in someone's guard, chew off a nipple. Bite from a position where the other guy is incapable of doing anything to you in return. -Tony

Exactly,
Nothing distracts a person like biting off a chunk of them and spitting it at them. Some people pass out from the sheer shock of it.

When I was about 14 or so, and before I knew anything about the ground, jiu-jitsu, or even wrestling, I got into a fight with a high school wrestler.
He pinned me down with side control, and not knowing what to do, I bit off a piece of skin at his side. The guy DID get off me in a hurry....BUT he did not "pass out from sheer shock" ....he was pissed as hell, and was coming back at me. If the fight hadn't been broken up, I'm sure he would have grounded me again, and this time made me pay for what I did. Since then I'd rather out grapple someone. If I can't out grapple someone, and am afraid for my life, *uck it, just stab him in the neck with a folding knife. Ryu |

While it did not put the guy in a state of shock it did get the guy off of you for the moment and save your azz till help came. I would call that effective. You may have found a hole for another dirty technique if he attacked again.
