We've all been talking about Renzo and Goes, but another terrible performance was put in by Sakuraba. Sak has used the turtle to good effect against bjj grapplers. But it was a horrible idea against Silva.
Silva administered one hell of a beating to Sak, much of it with Sak just and open target on the ground. I've never been a fan of butt-scooting. However, it is a much better option than the turtle. |

Americana is right. Sak hates to butt-scoot and go into the guard. With Silva, he should have done it.
Guess he underestimated Silva's ability to hurt people. With Silva's reputation, that's hard to understand. Or he might have overestimated his ability to defend himself against knees in the turtle. Alternatively, he could have tried to tie Silva up while standing and bring the fight to the ground. In a rematch, and there should be one, we'll see how he deals with it. With the new rules, I think Silva will win again. |

I can't believe a smart fighter like Sakuraba lost in such a stupid way. I'm calling work! J/K
