Ryan Gracie is dead

Ryan Gracie was found dead in a jail cell at 7:00am saturday morning in Sao Paulo, Brazil. According to news bulletins, he was arrested for stealing a car and then attempting to steal a motorcycle. Cause of death is, as of yet, unknown.

Ryan was arrested twice due to his aggressive behavior. On 15 December 2007 at approximately 1:30am, he was arrested for stealing cars and injuring a 76-year-old man with a knife. At approximately 7:00am he was found dead in his prison cell apparently due to the effect of drugs

From what I hear the Brazilian cops are rather rough on their prisoners so that might've been a cause.

Although I don't condone the alleged activity outlined above, its always sad when great talent goes to waste. Condolences to his family.

terrible waste. I felt he had the talent to be better in MMA than Renzo and royce were in the modern era. A tragedy.
He always seemed super aggresive like he was on steriods.

Condolences to the Gracie Family and those that loved him. I have a lot of respect for the Gracie family. My heart also goes out to the innocent elderly man he stabbed with a knife.....

Considering the Gracie family is the most influential family in Brazil. I would suspect he would be tratd with kid gloves.

This is very sad news, I enjoyed watching him fight and it's always tragic when someone so young dies. This most definately sounds fishy to me; it smacks of foul play but I don't pretend to have any idea what actually happened. I'm just sorry to hear that a talented athlete died at a young age.
